Zonker’s secret: celibacy and weed.

But Zonker looks like an aging teenager while Mark has the look of experience and wisdom about him :)

I thought this was a cute fourth wall breaker. I didn’t see any religious/anti-religious OR political rants in it anywhere. So, as a person who went gray and bald before his older brothers (who still aren’t), I appreciate Mark’s point of view.

Except for wisdom, a few long grey hairs and some creaking joints, I still look the same as I did 32 years ago! My secret?Weed and having no kids or mortgage!

It wasn’t until after the 1983/1984 hiatus that the strip turned “Gasoline Alley”. The central cast members studied at Walden College from the fall of 1970 through the end of 1982! They finally graduated in the 1983 Broadway musical.

I know someone who could BE Zonker. He is a year and a half older than me. We looked about the same age when we met, now, 36 years later, I look older. And I am physically similar to Mark, so maybe some body types just age slower. Damnit.
