I am still trying to figure out if the green clothed henchman (henchperson?) is Karen, Anthony, or someone else. The colorist is going with Karen or someone else, since Anthony is driving. In earlier strips the green clothed henchman is shown wearing a mens suit and tie, so I am unsure if it is Karen. Blaze Rize has already shown that she could portray herself as a male while committing a crime. There is no reason Karen should be any different. What is the opinion of everyone else ?
Crazy action! I wonder what Blackjack is up to. Looks like he dead-ended himself. But I bet he has something planned! Maybe he wanted to rig it so Tracy brought him in singlehandedly? How can you tell with such a crazeeee?
Tracy is on his own because the rest of them are stuck back at the bank. The snow storm and the clever escape cut them off.
I can’t figger why during the getaway chase the baddies are wearing their disguise! It would be easier to see to drive that thing without that danged hankerchief blowing all over his (or her) face. Not that the perp is someone else in disguise. That is a distant possibility.
Old time Tracy fans correct me if I am wrong, but this is the first time in my memory of the strip where you are almost rooting for the bad guy to come out of this ok. Is this a first for the strip?
I’m not sure Tracy has the advantage. He’s perched on a snowmobile and about to place himself between a very large and powerful vehicle with a strong plow blade in the front and a wall of parked vehicles behind him.
While BJ may not want to kill Tracy, he may use this to his advantage.
Either way we’re all on the edge of our seats waiting for tomorrow’s strip.
TRACY’S HOME CITY – In Chester Gould’s time (further to my post yesterday)Brenda, If you grew up in Chicago I can empathize with you. Gould came to live there and subsequently moved to nearby Woodstock IL – for his adult working life. Dick Tracy was inspired by crime conditions in Chicago.. I’ve no " horse in the race " , neither born nor living in either New York or Chicago. (Jim Doherty lives and works in the latter). Unemotionally, I just reported what Chester Gould wrote in his strips. At the beginning, the wider McCormic family owned the Chicago Tribune// and the *New York Daily News**. The family member who hired Gould (his Boss) was Capt. J. M. Patterson, based in New York. He was responsible for authorizing all the top strips that both those papers carried.Best if you have the Tracy strips (named yesterday) -and you READ them, and - – - YOU then decide on the issue. The text in 3 daily Tracy strips Aug 8, 9 and 11, 1933 (2nd Stooge Viller tale), are sufficient to show “Home at Last” - was indeed – - – New York City in that tale !.For the sake of space I’ll reproduce the relevant TEXT from a few panels in that story (for the benefit of those who don’t have the strips) – - – in an immediate ‘follow up post’.
With Gould’s " text " in HAND – - – YOU both the Judges !
I’m sure Blackjack has something else planned. (Maybe this is where the escape dirigible is hidden!)Of course, Blackjack might WANT Tracy to catch him — I mean, would he want to be captured by anyone else?
Is that someone in panel two waiting for Blackjack and company? Maybe that “take a right” command was for a specific reason. In any case, I don’t worry. This is gonna be great no matter what.
Syd,Don’t forget the Hardly clan, whose OCEAN hideout – Lobster Point – was within two hours driving distance of Tracy’s town, per the strip of Feb. 8, 1959.
Sydney, we put this whole thing to rest on the yahoo group, and if it wasnt mentioned here, then i will sya it now. regardless fo where gould may have “INTENDED” the city to be (which i do not know because i am not a mind reader nor do i have access to any notes he may have written) the CURRENT CREATIVE TEAM (mike, the writer to be specific) stated that tracy IS based in Chicago. Leave it at that and move on already.

Is Tracy trying to take down the Blackjack Bunch alone, without backup?

Why is DT not wearing gloves? On a snowmobile in a snowstorm, his hands will probably be too cold for him to shoot BJ – or even hit him!!!!
