Wrong answer brother. We are only allowed to think those kinds of responses, not actually say them.

But I do need a wife. Otherwise, I have no reason to pick up after myself.

Could this strip be any more out-of-touch and sexist? This sounds like a punch line from the 40s or 50s. I think it’s time for me to spare myself the aggravation and stop reading it.

Whoo boy! Another fun day in FBOFW! I’ll just say I’d like a wife too, and slink away.

I disagree. Somebody should tell him – if not his own sister, who will? She shouldn’t throw a fit or anything, but if left unchecked …. Have you SEEN the show “Hoarders”?

As comedienne Rita Rudner would say, ‘Single men are kind of like bears with furniture.’

He is right though, he needs a wife. A wife’s role is to instruct her husband to clean the house, do the laundry, keep kitchen clean, scrub the toilet, and demand obedience to her. When he is done serving her, he is to kneel and kiss her feet.

Horders are different from the just plain lazy unclean people. The end result is the same, but the unclean can just walk away – the horder can not.

It’s my experience that lazy, sloppy people tend to be hoarders. They can’t stand to throw out anything, which compounds the junk problem.

“in that 29 years became well known as a husband basher.”

Only by a minor subset of Gocomics commentators. Here and IRL Lynn had many more supporters than detractors.

I was much too caring of my EX. I will never remarry, so that is all OK.

Only one of my 4 kids was ever really tidy (2nd son) and he married a woman who is equally tidy so that works well. I’m not sure quite how their boy and girl are but love to see them doing well.

What he needs is a doormat — and most modern women would simply run. I say “most” because there are still those who would agree with him. As for the “husband-basher” remarks, I’m kinda tired of the cartoonist-basher comments. The artist is entitled to draw her comic any way she wants, if you don’t like it…
