Love panel 2 – the three bow ties visible on the shilouettes (you could almost hear them harmonizing)! And I disagree with Margueritem.I don’t think Panda’s the least bit concerned – it just means the quartet aren’t going to feed the fish. Yet.
That must have been some reunion between Mumbles and his former group. “Hey Mumbles, remember the time when we blackmailed you and you responded by trying to blow us up with dynamite? Good times, good times…”
Things aren’t looking so good for Mumbles right now. That comment about an “injustice league,” coupled with the mysterious figure leaving the wreckage of the George Alpha clubhouse, comic store bag in hand. Could be the new Mr. Crime is like a lot of us here… a comic book geek.
Given the combination of who is likely on the insurance policy, plus the pictures of Mumbles and V.V. on the wall, I’d say the cops are soon going to be having Mumbles “assist with their enquiries.”
Two other notes: it seems like Panda’s been losing his temper a bit more often. And is the Mumbles Quartet, all four of them, involved in crime? Roy’s comment seems to imply so.
Call me a pessimist… but I think they’d better brush up on trio music… Losing the main guy is not always fatal to a group. Around 1986 I got to listen to Bob Wills’ group practice. They were doing better than 98% of the studio stuff you hear.

“Listen, Panda, guy got too mouthy. Had to take him out.” That’s the best I can do with it.

Analyzing his speech pattern, Mumbles appears to be saying:“Listen Panda, the guy got too mouthy and I had to take him out”

I’m thinking Panda meant that’ll keep the other guys in the Quartet alive. Mumbles may be joining Vince.

Sometimes I think Mumbles was my son’s speech teacher. I hope he sees what’s coming for him and gets away to be seen another day.
