Bass Reeves now has his own memorial in Fort Smith, Arkansas, near the site of the to-be-constructed U.S. Marshals’ Museum. I saw it for the first time a couple of weeks ago while operating the Fort Smith Trolley Museum’s Birney streetcar… ;D
Kinda looks like Teevo was not going to warn Tracy about a trap at all, he just blurted out of surprise. The Chief has him in cuffs about now for sure. Too bad for the bad guys. By the way, where’s Panda?
Great strip! Kassie’s shocked? What did she think happened to her uncle? I have a feeling that door’s not going to be left standing for long. Go get ’em Tracy!
number 13 today! i dont think little face is gonna make it out alive! tracy seems to be jumping the gun, unless of course thats someone ELSE in the yellow fedora in front of panda’s agency and gimmicgenius is right that tracy is at a DIFFERENT door with the warrant. team tracy never said WHAT the warrant was for!
“Woo Hoo! It’s Dick Tracy!”Fantastic art – including a bug-eyed B-B Eyes and a non-nonsense Dick Tracy!Great writing – can Leonard save Cassie? and himself? And a great “Hall of Fame” on Bass Reeves! Can it get any better?
Night,.Re your comment below:.“Bass Reeves was some dedicated law man. He retires to being a police officer? I guess being a beat cop is easier that a Marshal. I’d like to read a biography of him.”.The best is probably BLACK GUN, SILVER STAR by Art T. Burton. It was a Spur Award nominee in the category of Best Non-Fiction – Biography..Art is also the author of BLACK, RED, AND DEADLY, a book about a number of black and American Indian lawmen and outlaws in the Old West, particulary in Indian Territory (present-day Oklahoma, the birthplace of Chester Gould). About half of that book is also about Reeves, though BLACK GUN, SILVER STAR is more comprehensive..THE BLACK BADGE by Paul Brady is another biography of Reeves, but I haven’t read it, nor have I seen any reviews. Can’t personally speak to its quality..BAD NEWS FOR OUTLAWS by Vanda Micheax Nelson, with illustrations by R. Greogy Christie is a kids’ biography about Reeves, and was another Spur finalist in the Storyteller category. It won the Coretta Scott King Literary Award. .Gary Paulsen’s THE LEGEND OF BASS REEVES is a kid’s novel based on the life of Reeves. Much of this book is a speculative look at Reeve’s childhood as a slave..Johnny D. Bogg’s Spur-WINNING novel, LEGACY OF A LAWMAN, fictionalizes Reeves’s pursuit of his son on a charge of murder..Bill Burchardt’s BLACK MARSHAL is another novel about Reeve’s pursuit of his son. However, in this version most of the names, including Reeves’s, are changed.

I’m really loving the decor of the “agency” office. Great detail work by the ‘rivet man’.
