Good Morning, Vista Bill & Margueritem! Just a thought…When the smoke clears, if Abner Kadaver appears to be one of the victims, it would remind me of what the great wit, Dorothy Parker remarked when she was told that former president Calvin Coolidge had died…”How can they tell?”

Such detail! Freckles on her back in every panel as well as the welt on her arm from Doubleups whip! /// Re: Blaze: Will she make a fresh start or will she try to steal Davey’s computer????

Poor Davey, he realized too late the full meaning of being Mr Crime in real life, and not in some online role-playing game.Too bad, he wasn`t really bad!

GASP! It was Davey?! Where is the Mushroom Lady? With so many down, I’d want to be sure just where she is and what she’s doing or there may be a few less bodies around when the smoke clears. ULP!

I dunno, it seems to me that Blaze is the type not to get mad, but to get even. And Davey isn’t dead yet. Great call on the Dorothy Parker remark earlier. How CAN they tell?

looks like davey got the worst of tess’ shootout with panda! mr mylar seems to be not much longer for this world, AND he was smart enough to erase all records of himself as mr crime to boot! BRILLIANT!!! plus he has cleared blaze rize of ANY involvement also. awww.. davey wavey’s in love! how cute! lol! however, will blaze take advantage of the situation and get lost, or will she stay with davey til the end and risk being arrested? i’m betting on the latter

gutsy move by blaze to leave davey in an alley with SQUAD CARS right ther! (check panel two!) the great thing about this strip is that i read the STORY first, comment, then go back to check joe’s incredibly detailed work and pick up things i didnt see the first time around. THATS the mark of a true master of his craft. the gould/fletcher/colling and fletcher/collins eras were breathtakingly amazing works of art no doubt, but i dont recall seeing so much detail being put into simple BACKGROUNDS as much during those days as joe has done in the 12+ months he has been on the strip. truly uncanny!

question for mike, joe and the art team. when you guys write out, draw, ink and color the strip… is it done “comic book style” where say for example 22 pages of panels are drawn, and then get split up into dailies and sundays, or is it done “one day at a time”?

I spoke with Joe in Charlotte NC recently and he told me that the daily strips are not inked. So they are not even black and white. The inking is done digitally. He also indicated that they me soon go on sale.

A couple thoughts: (1) Didn’t see Davey Mylar take a shot to the shoulder yesterday? Yet, his shirt looks intact today. (2) If Blaze is going to run away and pretend none of this never happened, she needs to put the gun down Otherwise, she could in for a world of hurt.

So I guess we have our six villains fatalities: three from the Mumbles Quartet, Teevo, Davey and Double Up. Sad to see them go but glad to see the rest survive to play another day. We’ve seen Tracy and company injured but hopefully they’ll all survive. .It seems highly unlikely but wouldn’t it be great if Davey’s mom wasn’t as clueless as he thought? She saves his data and returns as Mama Crime, bent on revenge for her son’s death.

@trimguy:I was also looking for the shirt sleeve torn by yesterday’s bullet – we were just commenting on the great detail, but I guess mistakes will slip through, even on the best artists.

There is still the money. What happened to all Davey’s ill-gotten gains from his days as Mr. Crime, all those package deliveries? Blaze must realize his computer would have a record of his bank accounts.

Is Davey actually fatally injured? He did not seem to be that badly hit. I don’t see how dying in an alley is going to go unnoticed, that his mother or someone isn’t going to figure out he shouldn’t be there.

I don’t know about today’s dialogue. I think it should go more like:Davey: “My computer will self-destruct, and all traces of my being Mr. Crime will (cough) vanish…”Blaze: “Oh, Davey! Don’t say that! (pause) Where’s the money?”Davey: “I’ve even erased all records of you.. (cough)”Blaze: “Davey, you’re so thoughtful. Where’s the money?”Davey: “You can run away, and get a new start…”Blaze: “Start schmart! WHERE’S THE BLEEPING MONEY?”

ARRGH!What’s with this sympathy for Davey and Blaze?I like B-B Eyes and Mumbles more than Davey – they don’t pretend to being moral, while Davey is the embodiment of “the ends justify the means” – so what if a dozen murders have happened, it’s all to help mom.I like Blaze, but not in a “PTA-minivan” sort of way. She’s a hottie (stick to the suits) and an interesting criminal – and that’s all.I don’t know, maybe this is a holdover from my days as a reporter covering real crime and real victims.

…….this keeps happening……bad guys getting shot but we don’t know whether it’s fatal or not……the guess was Davey, Double-Up and Teevo for the other three……but kadaver appeared to be taken out, too……and possibly Panda……so any one (or two) of the first three could have survived instead……gee, we should’ve had a contest, and the first person to guess right on here receive a one panel “guest” appearance mention in a forthcoming script (ex…“Detective Vista Bill” or “Agent Margueritem”, lol)

As her footsteps echo down the alley

    Davey walks the lonesome valley

Little Davey, you see, got really hurt

Blood soaks into his socks and his shirt

He’s left there lying in the dirt

Who knows for just how long

And though he was the boss

His life now is at a loss

Done in by a civvie and not the fuzz

Ooh, what an unlucky man he was

As he lies moribund on the box

Away from him runs a fox

Svelte, lovely and a little hyper

But as dangerous as a viper

Careful not to be distracted by her charm

Else to you, she will bring great harm

A buxom young lass with hair of red

With a penchant for making you dead

For her though, Death will have its way

Because in comics, crime must not pay

So she will be made to pay the price

For engaging in things not so nice

Say good-bye to Blaze, it’s been fun

The gauntlet now she must run

With the cops she is about to collide

And meet her end like Bonnie and Clyde

    Thanks, Doc1947G, billdi and mzkdad.
