I’m thinking yes, Moon Maid is really gone, and the lady from last week is someone else. Especially since she covered her face. But who???

Nice tribute to one of my favorite characters. Still bothers me that they dispatched her as they did, but moving on….Lizz’s hair continues to grow, and she looks good! I hope she grows it long and keeps it that way.As for the identity of Moon Maid, there is an interesting discussion going on about that on the Yahoo Dick Tracy site. Some are convinced it’s Mrs. Chin Chillar, and they make some good arguments.

August 7 [tomorrow, actually], the anniversary of Moon Maid’s death (with the year artfully obscured). Yes, let her rest in peace. The masked—or bandaged, we are being told “off-strip”—vigilante is apparently not really her; but who knows what curve balls Team Tracy may throw our way?

Classy move, showing Junior today. As for Moon Maid, I keep thinking of Darth Vader saying, “A sister! Obi Wan was wise to hide her from me.”

Is the Moon Maid story collected anyplace? I know the basics, but would like to read the whole thing.

SIXTEEN!! WOW! Lizz is looking pretty amazing in panel one! and poor junior, i feel bad for him. i gotta say that aside from joe, junior is probably my favorite supporting character in this strip…followed closely by both lee ebony and johnny adonis. will this moon maid impersonator show up at mysta’s gravesite, or will she be watching from afar as junior pays his respects and grieves for his deceased wife? and what will junior’s reaction be? funny how the newcast of the attempted robbery hasnt “hit” the MCU HQ yet… but just WAIT til it does!

Very touching artwork today. Though Moon Maid died in a big explosion, I’m assuming that they found some remains and they’re buried there.

I don’t remember Moon Maid being called “Mysta”. The name wasn’t in any story I read with her in it.

Too bad you can’t see comics archives here at goComics. I mean beyond what they published themseleves. I know it’s unrealistic but when I went pro I thought I was going to get 75 years of Blondie, Gasoline Alley, and so on.

Mrs. Chin Chilla? I don’t think so.An impersonator? Hmm… an impersonator that has Moon Maid’s powers. And those antennae.I think this is more than an impersonator. And I doubt that this is another classic character from the past.(And Tarry; thanks for the Nancy Sinatra vid last week! Gorgeous!)

I grew up in the Moon Era, and LOVED Moon Maid. Always looked forward to seeing her parents on Luna TV and when the Jr. Tracy family visited Earth. But was Mysta a name given to her by Mike and Joe? I only remember her by Moon Maid, and never remember her having another name. Maybe I missed it. I am happy they are doing a Moon Maid Story. It would be fun to see The Governor and his wife make a cameo on the storyline arc. I hope it really is Moon Maid, it would be fun to see her as part of the Police team, after all she often helped Tracy and Crew catching thugs!

Here’s another false lead. Moon Maid’s back. Or that is to say….* Angeltop in her ‘masked crusader’ costume dressed as Moon Maid.*.Yesterday’s Still-let-ya Vampire Hunter looks an AWFUL lot like Secret Squirrel Mole side kick, Morocco Mole..Secret Squirrel is the famous trench coat wearing Detective otherwise known as Agent 000. Secret Squirrel and his companion Morocco Mole. (here seen as Still-let-ya Vampire Hunter), fight crime with GUNS AND GADGETS and a dizzying array of devices concealed under his fedora, (which he almost NEVER removes). Sounds Familiar, huh. *.Or this could be another relative like Scirocco Mole. It’s Great to see her again since her last appearance on a Two Stupid Dogs story. She even has that stupid look on her face..Yesterday’s weakly drawn Dick Tracy doesn’t recognize that his orderly here today is the ‘real teddy bear.’ This Dis-Orderly Orderly could only be Jaunty Samie Jawles. His plan…to help bring back POPS-FLATTOP and Still-let-ya Vampire Hunter’s dearest Brother back from the grave. In order to achieve her demonic conversions Flattop and Flattop jr. Still-let-ya will have to save every drop of the iconic DT’s Blood to create a Super Jabba the Hut suckling hybrid in order to bring back to life her zombie father and brother!.But how will she achieve her goals???.What will happen to Dick? He’s so weak..Another Dick Tracy “adventure” that he spends in bed as others do the detecting!.Which came first…the chicken or ‘Dick Tracy’…..(It’s a trick question!).Good luck getting out of bed, Dick.

Another great strip today.I know a lot of fans depise the whole “Moon Saga,” but it was a product of it’s time – from the launch of Sputnik to the mid-60s, science fiction was just about everywhere (because it SOLD!).Even with Batman, who continuted with space fantasy stories until Detective #326 (April ‘64) – “Captives of the Alien Zoo.” (The next issue saw an overhaul of the characters to make him more realistic, a move obviously inspired by Marvel Comics’ success.)

Love the name Mysta.A shout-out to both mystery, and the mists that veiled the Moon Valley. Really nice touch.

“Mysta” is a very nice name. Like what happens to my eyes whenever I remember she got killed off. Great choice by Mike C. and Joe S.

Old-time comic book readers may remember that there was a somewhat obscure heroine in the ’40s-early ’50s named Mysta [Goddess] of the Moon— Mysta.

Mysta, nice name. Strange that Moon Maid was around as long as she was and I never once thought to ask what her real name was.
