I was hoping Phishface was at the bar, and Sam would look around and say, “OK, which one of you guys is Phishface?”

So Sam is at the right place and Chum comes in as Phishface is ordering takeout today so Sam can be led right to his hideout if Chum is so inclined? As the Church Lady of SNL would say, “How ConVEEEEEEEnient. Isn’t that special?”

Careful, Sam! When you confront a villain who thrives on sushi, you shouldn’t dress like a walking frond of seaweed!

Phishface will be mighty “steamed” if Chum brings Sam to his doorstep.

Best to be cautious of Chum, Sam, and don’t repeat the mistake of going in without backup! Remember what happened in the fake hospital?

chum DEFINITELY looks like a shark today… and youre right 60s fan, he DOES look rather menacing… tho sam can be a bit of a “hammerhead” at times, its not wise to mess with a great white ;) maybe sam will start a food fight… been a while since i’ve seen some flying fish… wheres “LEW ZEALAND” when you need him? lol :)

“Hi Pally”…this is obviously Joe The Bartender, one of Jackie Gleason’s great character impersonations! Nice little Easter Egg Mike! Keep up the “Super” work!

Yes, that is Joe the Bartender. I can tell because I see Mr. Dennehy just outside the panels.

Haha, loved Joe the Bartender when I was a kid. Sam is pretty smooth. I wonder if it will work. I would think that his face would be pretty familiar to bad guys in this town so it would be pretty tough for him to go undercover.

Is the sushi dealer the only guy who works there? He must be a holdover from the speakeasy days, besides that, Chum looks like he’s PO’d just because Sam is asking for Phishface. Good work with the strip fellas, shame on the Daily News for not carrying it anymore.

Sam, you should know better than to give up the name of your informant. Now when things go down, Phishface and Chum Lee will know that Barney Dhatkham was working with Sam and let him know where to find them.

It seems to me that the area BEHIND Joe in panels one and three is not the same thing as the window IN FRONT of Joe in panel two. That might even be an entrance to a second room, as there appears to be a piano player BEHIND Joe in the first panel.

It’s a reflection. At some angles you see a reflection, at some you don’t. Hardly a blooper (correct spelling).

the panels missing in the window would be the ARTIST not the writing team. i dont think mike sees the finished artwork before it goes to press.. at least not on every single strip that gets printed… with the creation of new characters, then yes i imagine he would but something like this strip today, i highly doubt it. how can you fault the WRITING team for something the ONLINE COLORIST does? its not like they have control over what the guy colors the pics… therye not standing over him watching every move he (or she) makes. and just for the record “still da man”.. exactly how large WAS your cup of “bitterness” this morning? i have seen maybe two or three posts from you and each one of them is negative and borderline nasty. if you dont like the strip, then dont let the door hit you on the way out

i just double checked the strip again, and youre 250% wrong on ALMOST all accounts still da man. first, the “bartender” (who ISNT a bartender but a counter server) apron DOESNT “turn white in panel two” like you suggested. look closer and youll see that its a standard chef/cooking apron which covers the front of the person but ties behind the back.. so from the angle in panel two you WOULDNT see it behind him since theres only two single strings to tie it together. HOWEVER, the part of the apron that goes around his neck IS missing or not colored properly… this can be s explained by saying that it is tucked under hsi collar, which would be totally feasible. as for the panels in the background.. notice the placement in each panel of the fishing net over the counter… its in a different place in each panel indicating different points of view in each one.. the panels in the window in the second pic are BEHIND sam and look closely.. thats CHUM’S silhouette in those window panels.. indicating that it is more than likely a front door since in the NEXT pic chum is BEHIND sam, giving the reader a view again of th eroom where the piani player is located. sorry “still da man”… youve been debunked
