Local weather folks are calling for freezing rain this afternoon followed by warmer temperatures and thunderstorms by tomorrow morning.

We expect a moderate vortex with a sunny weather-bomb. Oh the horror! News at eleven. We’re tracking this so you don’t have to!

Being a weather forecaster is a frustrating job. Every high is followed by a low!

I see the radar tonight is picking up a line of thundershowers, which extends from a point 9 miles south-southeast of Chester, Pennsylvania a along line and 6 miles either side of a line to a point 8 miles north-northeast of Secaucus, New Jersey.

However, the radar is also picking up a squadron of Russian ICBMs. – George Carlin

Weathermen have a tough job. I like the one that does our local weather. He’s entertaining as well as mostly accurate.

The meatierologist is calling for pork this morning before becoming beefier tonight.

I like studying the weather as a hobby, and it’s interesting that what with all their mega computers, they actually can predict only a little better than they did before the computer era. To be fair, there’s a myriad of variables that affect it from minute to minute, so gotta cut ‘em some slack. Another interesting tidbit: I had purchased an old book years ago that happened to have as a bookmark in it, a postcard from the 1930’s that the Weather Bureau would mail out to farmers and ranchers, with a prediction for the upcoming week. (woulda been interesting to see how accurate it was!)

I doubt that Bill Ayers or Bernadine Dohrn could whether THIS weatherman!!

Even when I was working as a weather forecaster, every year, I’d forget weatherperson day. :D We probably should have celebrated it in the office, but never did.
