I’m glad that things are still going well for Mole.

The Mole! But how does he have anything to do with Moon Maid? I read that this week’s story is supposed to tie into it. Maybe she and Retik are hiding out in Mole’s community?

“Hey Mommy, I’m off to study with an old man, who used to live in prison and now lives alone in an armoured hole in the ground!”“OK Dear, wear your gloves!”

Even Mole’s using a CFL…..then again, it’s getting hard to get the old tungsten bulbs these days….

Did Mole abandon his farm? Wasn’t he living in Iowa prior to his re-introduction in the wrestling storyline last year?

That’s the prettiest little Toad ever, isn’t she? I think she needs a new nickname.

I am rereading it now, and I plan to do so slowly, so that it sinks in better :P

Mole’s rehab started almost as soon as Tracy captured him (12/20/41). Angered that poor children were picking up his plunder as a burst water-pipe flushed it into the street, Tracy reminded him that it was Christmas week: “Think of your Christmas spirit. Don’t be a meanie.” Mole goes on to explain to Tracy that his crimes were revenge on gang members who, at the Last Minute, spared his life in exchange for his agreeing to provide a hideout. Imagine Mole’s surprise when Tracy later brings him a Christmas present in jail. “Cigarettes, fruit, candy! This is the first time in thirty years…” As Mole reflects on Tracy’s act of kindness, he hears “Oh, Come All Ye Faithful” playing in the street. A very Gouldian Christmas, indeed.

This is to let everyone at GoComics know – that Mike Curtis and wife Carole are ill, both Hospitalised.

They’ve been struck badly, by the current nasty Influenza. He managed to take time out to post what follows (below) – on the Dick Tracy Yahoo Board, and as he explained why, asked some-one to pass information on here – on their situation, and for readers – the strips upcoming events just ahead.

A Prayer or two here might be a good thing – for their quick recovery !

I have been out of the loop as Carole and I had thje flu after Christmas and then Carole was taken by ambulance to the hospital Thursday night.

Leigh, Shelley, Joe, Jim and Shane are taking over details on Tracy as I am spending most of my time at the hospital.

For some reason I can’t seem to post again at the Go Comics board, so here’s some tidbits for them if anyone cares to pass it on.

Tomorrow a brief return of a favorite villian, but most of next week will be devoted to the side MM story.

Next Sunday, the major story ONLY TIME WILL TELL begins. A new villian, the return of the Mole, and a Major real life pair of guest stars.

We’ll announce who they are this week later.

But this story is a “Gouldian” one, with a rather despicable villian in SWEATBOX.

I like the coloring, too, Gweedo.For a long time, the coloring was fine, but then the were some problems. Let’s hope everythings back on track to stay!

Looks like Mole is there fixing something. That appears to be a monkey wrench in his hand.

It’s always great seeing the supporting characters – especially Mole!-——————————————————————————-Thoughts and prayers with Mike and Carol.My own wife has been in the hospial since Jan. 2nd, and after several days in the ICU, she’s in a regular room, and doing much better.Reading Tracy and the other comics here as I eat breakfast has become my ‘sanctuary,’ the only time each day where I can step back from worrying about her and dealing with some very unpleasant facts of life.

Wonderful strip today. I especially enjoyed the tip of the hat to Gould’s style of introduction. The way it was worded to the 4th wall was sorely missed.

SDM, I think your memory has gotten mixed up with MPH’s. Matthew said the only reason he came to the board was because of the other poster. And if I remember correctly, they mutually agreed to vamoose. Which they did. I just gave you a passing reference, which should have been taken as a compliment. Then, Obi-Wan’s sage advice came over my loudspeakers, “Don’t feed the troll…”

Since Joe “S” has done such a great job with MOON MAID, (I mean do they come any sexier than that)? I would love to see his version of Molene, Ugly Christine, and Mrs. Chin Chillar. Is Molene still alive? I would like to see her come back. So excited that they are going forward with the Moon Maid story.

@ SDM & Otto, can’t you two just get along? No one bitches about you guys when you post normally, so, have fun NICELY, and stop acting like Itchy & Scratchy… or go someplace far away and kill each other, just don’t do it here ;)

Hmmm…. Was Toad’s skirt made from one of the Mole’s old shirts, or was it the other way ’round? :p

Mattie just couldn’t stand not being the center ring attraction. One month, and the withdrawals just got the better of him.

Me, too. We had a family of toads in our backyard and they became very friendly.

Mikeyj, I guess you forgot about this post of yours. No problem, I forget things all the time LOL! As I said, I’ve stayed away to keep that Butthead Otto away but others(such as you) like to bring me up. Such is the price of fame! LOL!!!!^^I haven’t forgotten it at, I was stating a fact that that other poster the other day, reminded me of you, and I still say so… either way, I don’t have any problem if you and Otto post here, just try to be nice and respectful… ps, I’m sorry that your family were amongst the victims of the Holocaust, My ex-GF lost her Grandparents in the “camps”, racism/Nazism is a true stain on a supposedly civilised World.

Those two are like a couple of small tornadoes… they come in at a fury, quickly cause scads of damage, then retreat as quickly as they came 0.o~~~!!!!

MM, eh? Moon Maid, we are led to think? Or could it be “Mr. Mole”?

I apologize in advance, but I’d like to comment on the comic strip instead of the current running monologue………..how can the little girl be teaching Mole if Mole is teaching her?

oh, and back to the monologue……….is there really anything to argue about concerning Adolf Hitler? He was a monster who murdered 6 million Jews, yes…but you can also say he murdered 5 million Poles, and planned to continue attacking people everywhere……and most everyone on this board probably has extremely negative feelings towards him, Still Da Man, you are not alone, I can assure you that………

I just joined Go Comics y’all this is my first comment on Dick Tracy…I saw and have the ‘90 movie version that starred Warren Beatty and Madonna who saw it???..who’s that blond girl?…..I thought it was Honeymoon Tracy Dick’s granddaughter but it’s not huh?…Honeymoon would have two ponytails huh???

Still, afteer going through a Batman story disguised as a Dick Tracy story, I suppose the Moon Maid subplot should finally come up.

I’m a little puzzled as in the original strip it looks like much of Mole’s “hotel” was destroyed due to cave ins back when he and Dick Tracy first met—Police Officer: “Boys, We’re out of luck. It’s caving in all over.” (bolded in the original strip)

May I suggest to all here that when certain nameless (by me) individuals exhibit trollish behavior to each other and any others, they should simply be flagged (rather than replied to) and let the administrators handle how to deal with them when they are heavily flagged.
