Didn’t see that anyone had posted this link to an Interview. I don’t think there are any spoilers that you need to be aware of.http://popcultureaddict.com/comic-books/moonmaid/
Way to go Mr. Diet Smith ! A real crimestopper !I hope we get to see ole Bardole in a fetal position slobbering out of both sides of his mouth. If he killed the guard (and I think that he did) he should suffer !
Hey! I was right Saturday when I said that Smith might have a remote control over-ride!Of course, his probably will use the Coupe’s big ol’ magnets to disarm gruesome, so Tracy and Sam can just clap on the cuffs.
I’m not sure exactly what Diet’s gizmo does, but it is clear enough that he has somehow neutralized the threat from Bardoll. Score that one for the Good Guys. But, now, whither speeds Clone-Moon Maid?
That was a great article. It really peaked my interest beyond what it was already. Frankly I wasn’t enamored of the strip of the 70s, especially the moon coupe/Moon Maid business. Thought the strip had got a little silly and ga ga. But this has been great.
Of course Smith has this in hand…One wonders why Tracy and Sam were even needed. And I draw a sigh of relief knowing this will go another two months (thanks for the inteview link Shadow!)
Of course they had to take Bardoll alive—otherwise there’s no way to pin Ghote and Sail to the attempted theft of the Space Coupe.
Ooo Just had a thought! What if…As Tracy and Sam take Bardoll off to jail; Dr Sail then forces Smith to launch the Space Coupe?
This moon Maid storyline is the best for lots of reasons, one of which is that it is in the Chester Gould tradition of long storylines that I used to love in the 60s and 70s, the shorter stories are not as interesting because the characters aren’t as well drawn out. When I was a kid I cut out each day’s strip and pasted it into a note book to save it. I had years and years worth of old strips, not only of Dick Tracy but Annie and so many other strips. Give us more longer stories!
Go Diet. Too bad he couldn’t save the fatally shot security guard. I don’t think we’ll be seeing Bardoll for a loooong time once Tracy and Sam get their hands on him.
Bardoll is standing right beside a space ship that uses magnetic forces as propulsion. With a gun in his hand. Made out of steel. I’m just guessing here but do you think it might be possible that Smith’s gizmo just turned up the magnets enough to yank the gun out of Bardoll’s hand…possibly with minor, or major, damage to his hand or arm or whole body?
As a courtesy, I ask that those who have read the article link above, please DO NOT MENTION ANY SPOILERS, especially the bit following the mention of 88 Keys. This information will become part of the story very soon, so don’t spoil it for those who don’t know.Thank you.
RE: The article many of us have read today, Mike very definitely said that TMS bosses read and took note of comments on this site! Our voices did actually make a difference. Thanks to those who listened to us!
RE: The article many of us have read today, Mike very definitely said that TMS bosses read and took note of comments on this site! Our voices did actually make a difference. Thanks to those who listened to us!^^That’s great, because I think 90% of us are here cause we love Dick Tracy, and only make complaints because we want DT to be as good as in it’s heyday, once again… and they are definitely on the right track. (Sweatbox’s death was a TOTAL Gouldian classic!)
A story could last six months or even longer, who cares? If it’s entertaining, well-paced, and keeps us coming back for more, it’s high quality. And that’s exactly what this story has been.

I figured that Diet would have some sort of protective device on the coupe, maybe a type of kill switch?

Diet Smith may have just saved Bardoll’s life…..

Some kind of remote control security system, I guess… totally logical and plausible; if not a bit of a letdown to those hoping for a big shootout XD
