iNFLUENCE SMILING! i THINK THAT’S A FIRST!

Good morning fellow DT and Annie fans from Vista Bill.

Influence today & Joel in Gasoline Alley yesterday! Are we becoming a happier place?

It is so strange to see Tracy’s (and Annie’s, too) image on the MCU’s suspect screen.

Add Influence to the list of reformed villains. Not complaining, just saying.Mole, Littleface, Influence, any others? I guess Mrs. Chin Chillar is a possibility, too, though that’s up in the air from what I remember.

All of these great villains going straight, it’ ain’t right.

I don’t see Tracy running short of baddies any time soon.

Can someone fill the newbies (like myself) in on Influence? What do you experts know about him?

Looking at panel 2, I imagine Punjab, and probably the Asp also, thinking, “you call that hypnotism? Now this is hypnotism!” —Their own distinctive brand of the ancient oriental secret power to cloud men’s minds and control them. But, if his conversion to the side of Good was genuine, I suppose Influence might be able to get something out of the captain in less threatening a way than Warbucks’ boys would employ. Since today’s episode was mainly expository, I expect we’ll see more action through the rest of this week….

Glad to see Margueritem is doing well.Hope she just doesn’t overdo it.And remember, 4 out of 5 doctors recommend a daily dose of comic strips.

Oh goodie, a telepath, a teleporter, a ninja, a time travelling brat, an absent minded scientist, a rich man to fund it all, and an ineffectual police department! sounds a lot better than the proposed justice league movie!

of course, the justice league movie will PROBABLY be a lot less far-fetched than this storyline!

It occurs to me that Influence might just be the kind of guy you might hire if you wanted to hypnotize an entire town.

“Religious experience…” In plain English, he got saved. (Probably the reason why Punjab and the Asp are looking at him like, “Seriously?” You’re bringing HIM in?")

Influence has found Jesus. Praise God. The Asp has hypnotic Power too, but he seems to be keeping it under wrap, for now. Sam’s on toothpicks, Dick is on gum, Sherlock is on the patch…welcome to 2014..its a New Golden Age of funny pages…TBC..

Thanks for the report on Marg. It’s good to know she’s keeping busy. Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with everything.

I wish I had margueritem’s energy! Her active lifestyle wears me out just thinking about it! ‘Course I’m almost 80.

I might also mention, another BIG part of my skepticism of Influence’ allegedly positive contributions to law enforcement could be summarized by the following question:.Does he REALLY help people remember “details” they may have “forgotten,” or is he IMPLANTING memories of events that didn’t really occur?.And he could be doing these wrongs EVEN IF he is now a “reformed” religious former criminal..He’d simply be doing it unwittingly..As tsull2121 said many times during the Moon Maid arc, regarding renegade doctors and the Frankenstein-like creation of our current Moon Maid,.With a reformed criminal like Influence interrogating Paulo,.WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?!?

I thought the Asp and Punjab looked frustrated that they wouldn’t be the ones to work on Paulo; after all, they did the hard work, bringing him in.Think of it this way – they went out and got the pinata, but they aren’t being allowed to crack it open and get the prize inside!

That is correct. In the novel, Dr. Victor Frankenstein’s monster is referred to as a “being,” “creature,” “demon,” “fiend” or “wretch,” among other things. He/it is never called “Frankenstein.”
