The air was thick with fearTumbleweeds were moving everywhereThe town was more dead than aliveThe folks did the best they could to survive“The future sure looks bleak”The wails rose sad and meekTracyville’s in such declineIt’s worse than the blind leading the blindThere’s no one left in commandThe sheriff can’t even draw a decent handA ghost town we might becomeA song of surrender we might have to humWhen suddenly a stupendous ray of lightTwo warriors preparing for battle through the nightTo restore the towns dignity and it’s joyTo hit homers like that Hobbs kid RoyLike Raphael and MichelangeloThe two new Ninjas Mike and JoeHave come to clean up this townAnd make sure Tracy’s no longer a clown.

Since today’s strip didn’t inspire me I decided to honor Mike and Joe.
Gweedo implied,Good morning the Late Great Vista Bill !-———————————————————————-.Good morning Gweedo. I might be late but I never professed to be great!
Where are Tracy and Blaze supposed to be in that last panel? There appear to be motion lines around Tracy’s head, so I guess they’re moving, but I don’t recognize the background. Is that some sort of machinery? Maybe they’re entering the subway, or something like that? Calling for help from all the great Dick Tracy fans out there!
I still kind of wonder what the purpose was for Tracy and Sam telling Blaze about Flakey’s demise. I take it they strongly suspect she was the triggerwoman. Well of course. Why wouldn’t they? Blaze had to be at or near the top of the list of suspects in Flakey’s death, given Blaze was the identical twin sister of the person Flakey murdered. So was Tracy doing sort of a “wink wink, we pretty much know you contributed to Flakey’s death, Blaze, but since the bullet didn’t actually kill Flakey because of your rotten aim and we don’t feel all that sorry that Flakey is dead anyway, you don’t need to feel like you’re a slave to being a criminal the rest of your life, so help us catch Notta and rat out the Blackhearts and everything will be set for you to become a law abiding citizen once you complete the terms of the DA’s plea bargain?” That’s how I put it together.
I don’t remember anyone ever asking this question, but if they did, please let me know where to read the answer. Every time I see Blaze with the jacket and bowtie on, I am reminded of the look Jimmy Olsen had in the 50s and 60s comics—was this a deliberate design of the character, or am I reading too much into it?
Purdy may be safe for now, but I have a feeling we’ll be seeing or hearing of him again sometime. Blaze is laden with self-guilt. She needs help getting her head on straight. I hope she gets it.
ok i have enjoyed the comments and the back ground on Notta – but I dont know anything about Purddy – can there be a quick wrap up of his past deeds be listed? thanks

Blaze is still a little unsure that she made the right choice. Her loyalty is commendable.

Good morning VB and all! To me, the final panel conveys quite a strong sense of the weight Tracy carries.
