This is pretty much the best part of that 1987 TV Movie based upon The Spirit.

Pat’s neither as indestructible nor invaluable to the strip’s continued existence as Tracy.

Legitimate suspense as to outcome confirmed.

Now that is going to up the ante once it is done successfully or failed. I can see Rikki targeting everyone around Tracy.There is one fiendish way of hurting your target, you kill their entire family and friends and leave the target alive.

She hung up on him! First it was Rikki who was angry. Now, it’s Bribery who is angry. Nevertheless, Patton had better watch out.

By the way …

As I understand it, Dethany Dendrobia was originally intended to have a more active role in tracking down Rikki, but short of drafting legal papers a brief day-or-two cameo was the most everyone could get away with.

I called an asked if I could speak to Sydney’s brother. The brother’s wife said the brother really couldn’t talk on the phone because of the Alzheimer’s. I told her that I was wondering how my friend, Sydney was doing because I hadn’t heard from him in a while. She said she talked to Sydney’s daughter a couple of weeks ago and the news was that Sydney is doing fine and nothing is wrong. She said that he is not in perfect health due to his age but as she understands it, everything is fine.

Bribery had better stay out of Rikki’s way.

That was supposed to say “she” not “he.”

Patton, you better watch out for Rikki! Rikki, you better watch out for Bribery! Bribery, you better watch out for Rikki! Sheesh!

Also, supposedly “Stamped” DVDs last longer and are less prone to degradation than “Burned” DVDs.

Either way, it will wear out eventually.

In the Goulden Years, Patton definitely could be killed off, but nowadays it seems all the good guys are immune, so not much suspense wondering how THIS will turn out…..more curious if we’re even DONE with Abner yet…..bringing one of the fave villians back for basically a cameo seems strange, all considered….

Don’t mess with Bribery!

Rikki is a brilliant rendition of a tragic anti-hero. She is clearly carrying a lot of pain inside, and trying to deal with it by turning it on others. Her back-story would be interesting to explore, but I suspect it would not suit a “family” comic strip.

I hope Rikki changes her mind and decides to kill Bribery instead…

Why Patton and not Catchem?

Pat has been a bit more visible of late – should have realized it was leading up to something.

To quote Sir. Arthur Conan Doyle: “Evil indeed is the man who has not one woman to mourn him.”

In her passion. Rikki has formulated a plan of “working her way up to Tracy.” Pat Patton is just its starting point, her proposed First Vengeance Victim. But Mr. Bribery will not take her insubordination lightly and may toss a spanner in the works. This could all become very messy before it’s over, with a Circle of Death forming. We don’t even know what Abner’s real status is, despite Rikki’s assumption that she has lost him permanently.Fall weather forecast: hot; very hot, bloody sticky, with a cloud of gunsmoke….

Don’t mess with the underworld Widow (?) of the Year…

Ok, that’s it. I don’t like Rikki anymore!!!!

If my pal SDM were here, he’d explain ALL of this stuff. After all, HE knows all! And, of course, if my other buddy, Mattie would pipe up, we’d know what’s in store for us. Being on the VIP list, he is privy to the storyline.

I’m beginning to wonder if Joe & Mike are capable anymore of writing a story that doesn’t have a revenge-against-tracy-will-try-to-kill-tracy-or somebody-close-to-tracy plot. For sure, Tracy/Abner Cadaver stories have long reached their sell-by date.
