Yesterday’s Panel #2 didn’t seem to lead anywhere, at least not beyond illustrating what was – presumably – the “Selfie Stick” weapon used on Coffee, and likely Bellowthon as well.
On older non power steering cars the steering box was geared that it would take more turns of the wheel to go ‘clock to clock’ without undue effort, so to make the turning ‘kwik ’n easy’ the knob allows one handed steering while the other hand goes around your babe’s shoulder [and other places] or to shift the manual transmission. Works great for tooling the mower around the yard and you can hold a drink too, if you so desire.
As Tracy and Sam were rescuing and arresting Posie back in the day, he muttered to himself, “What have I done with my life?” Seems he should have given the question more serious contemplation. Mysta whistles a happy tune, while Posie hits a sour note.
The “suicide” knob was also an aide for disabled drivers. In the 60’s a friend had a “claw” style prosthetic left arm/hand and the knob allowed him to operate the wheel easier – especially as some noted in the days when the right hand was needed to shift gears.
Everything about Posie shouts “Old School,” from the fashion mode he favors to the steering knob in his car. And he seems to be anchored in some ways to his days before the “vacation up north.” There is a lot of current popular culture that he seems unaware of unless someone clues him in. But his interest in “Mindy Ermine” keeps him going. I am still not able to figure out whether his intentions are upright, or not….
