It appears that the other cuff is still open enough to easily slip off the ball hitch, now that the car has temporarily stopped. No key needed, other than to get it off his wrist.

Well here’s a new first – Ghost is an animal loving psychopathic murderer – I guess there’s a little good in everyone…

This deer still has a full set of antlers, but most deer shed their antlers between January and April. It is getting late in the season to still have antlers.

Yesterday, I figured Tracy would get the cuffs off and skid to a halt while the Ghost’s car crashed into the deer causing an early demise to both. Guess animal cruelty wasn’t in the cards this time.

When this is all over, Tracy’s buying that deer a JUMBO salt lick! ;-)

Maybe that deer owes Tracy a favor somehow.

At this point I think Bracy SUSPECTS who has been dragging him, but wouldn’t know for certain

Regardless of what Ghost went up the river for previously, he has just bought himself a one-way ticket back to the pokey.

Now – assuming that Ghost wasn’t stupid enough to let Tracy keep his gun (like he was to not take his key to the handcuffs)…

Ahh good, thank you Team Tracy for not running over the deer. Now the buck may not like his friend being dragged, so Ghost stay in the car.

It’s amazing Dick Tracy is still alive. Chained to a tree in a snow storm at night… dragged by a car… Maybe it’s time his boss retired him.

Pepper got off easy. Most of the time you find a deer in the road, they have imbedded themselves in your radiator.

One problem, Ghost still has a gun and I’m sure he disarmed Tracy before hitching him to the trailer hitch.

Seriously?? Amazed that Dicko’s still alive? This short stay behind the car was a piece of cake compared to the other ones, plus beking impaled twice, bujried twice, shot, starved, etc. etc. He’s a triple cat with 27 lives. Where ya been the last 70+ years?

Gosh Dam. We could have celebrated with a beautiful venison roast! Ah well.

I suspect Sam and crew will be racing up the road before this is all said and done. Meanwhile back at the ranch, Tracy is about to do a 1-on-1 with Ghost. I’m betting 15:1 on Bracy.

Just for the fun of it, try actually pronouncing that onomatopoeia representing the sound of the card skidding to a halt!

Chester Gould actually used onomatopoeia very sparingly. This is more like one of the “sound effects” Marvel Comics is famous for.

Tracy exclaims, “I’m free!” I hope his optimism is not premature. What if Ghost starts to back up the car (in order to circle around the deer)? If Tracy is still on the ground in back and near the car, he is not safe, yet. He needs to roll over to the roadside and take cover, since Ghost is armed and might have noticed that Tracy is no longer hitched (the clank of the dropping end of the handcuffs against the car might have been audible). “The deer in the headlights” won’t remain paralyzed for long, though; it will soon be bounding off into the woods and away from the threatening vehicle. So, maybe Ghost will be able simply to drive on forward and maybe in the tenseness of the moment not notice Tracy’s escape….
