Tracy has one of those projector things on his retro wrist device, beaming him pictures from the team at the scene of the crime. I’m impressed. Judging from Sam’s reaction, Grimm indeed died from a bite. Now to track down Sawtooth somehow!
I never saw Tracy look so regal and proud as he does in P. 3. Once they start looking up all the trains that left in a given span of time, it is only a matter of time until a yard dick in some frieght stop along the way that discovers the dissolved sweatbox ending remains of chipped tooth.

Safe Travels, Brother!
Thank you, Nunnery and to related postings, old time tested and true friends is best. Stayed through supper today as the old boy was lively and as I will be on and off the board in coming weeks wanted this visit to be rib stickin’ good. Twenty year veterans caretaker, Leon and his partner in Depends, Janet, really get personally chummy with the men and indulge with a heapin’ helpin’ dose for humor which is good for these boys who are in various stages of decay; down but not out !
Dick’s amazing. He can see that Sawtooth didn’t take another car, plane, bus or boat out of Tracyville but he can never see when he’s about to get knocked out from behind!
Hey guys. Spoiler alert for what’s gonna happen in Sunday’s strip. The police will corner Sawtooth in that boxcar he’s in and when he won’t surrender peacefully they’ll start shooting and hit that poisonous canister blowing Sawtooth up. You heard it from me first.
Grim(m)‘s bookie isn’t going to be pleased to find out Sawtooth took a bite out of his profit. Now THAT would be interesting, Sawtooth, Tracy and the bookie facing off. The good, the bad and the ugly!
Lizz is looking out of the broken patio door and Tracy is looking into the broken patio door. Why does she need to call him on the wrist wizard? Why does she have to convey the pictures to him? Didn’t his wrist wizard get the bulletin?
Others have pointed this out already but if that’s Tess with Lizz how can she be at the truck when she should be at home with Dick. Impossible unless one of her is a hologram. Or perhaps Diet has cloned her. We know Lizz is at the truck site because she’s beaming over a live picture to Tracy at home.
Sawtooth is a good villain, but I just hope he doesn’t become a recurring storyline, popping up every 6, 9 months or so to botch up another attempted hit on Tracy. The concept is already starting to wear thin.
Given that Sam is a veteran detective and has seen Death’s many forms too many times during his career, that simple remark in panel 2 is more than enough to make clear that Sawtooth did indeed perform his trademark throat excision on the late and unlamented gambler-henchman, Grimm. The truck labelled “Ernie’s” was found, I take it, neither on the tracks nor on the road, but pulled off the road and left “near the railyards.” As has been noted above from the start of the Comments, it should not be hard to figure out which trains were leaving the yards or passing through at the approximate time of Grimm’s murder and to have them tracked in case [as we know to be true] Sawtooth did hop one. If he fled on foot [we know he did not} a dragnet of the the railyards area would presumably force him into the open.
What is in store for Sawtooth on the freight? RR cops?

If Sawtooth gets caught, it won’t be by Tracy!
And the hazmat in the boxcar just might be that Sweatbox ending…
Somewhere between here and why not Minot!

So he left him in the rider’s side. I wonder when he killed him? Probably when he stopped for the last time.

Good morning™, HarryCK Do you mean to say that you think they’ll only be able to identify Sawtooth by his dental records?

So, it looks like Sawtooth did his dirty deed and then just left the van parked on a street, not on the tracks as some of us thought he might do.

They needed Tracy to tell them that his throat was gouged out with teeth?
Tracy: “No, that’s not a bullet wound.”

Who is the blonde with Lizz at the crime scene? Another member of the squad (not up to date with who is actually on the squad,) or, just a CSI?

Neighbor 1: Well, Tracy is up and walking around – another murder attempt foiled, ho hum.
Neighbor 2: What happened to that jaw guy?
Neighbor 1: He got away but they must be on his trail – I think I overheard that they found out he stopped for a bite LOL

What happened to the sourdough bread? Did the police impound it for, er, “evidence”?

…..well, it isn’t that hard to know what train Sawtooth might have hopped…..but knowing where he might have hopped OFF is a whole different ballgame
