What can say except “Even a broken watch is right twice a day!” This puts me in company like the 1-15 Cleveland Browns from a few years ago. Hopefully, like them, my luck is set to improve. Snow=anthrax is next??
Now I wonder how long it will take Doc to realize it’s KKs bag that Mitchell is talking about? If he’s had “eyes” for her like I suspect then he knew immediately.
If Mitchell is wearing a courier uniform, as I speculated, this has not been his best delivery performance. I gather that he heard Kandikane coming and didn’t want to be seen with the goods in his hand, so he quickly stashed it, figuring that Doc could retrieve it from its hiding place a bit later. Obviously, that plan didn’t work, either.
So, yes, I suppose it was “Chekov’s equipment bag” when it was featured so prominently a couple of days ago.
At least we know why that stupid backpack was featured so prominently. “Someone was coming?” He talked to people. He walked all the way there with the ‘snow.’
1- Hello? Jimmy Olsen? This is Doc Bugs. For reasons that may or not be made clear later, I need you to write a great review of this play. 2- No can do Doc Bugs. That would mean retyping the whole thing and the newspaper makes me buy my own ribbons now. The one I have is almost shot. 3- DOC BUGS: Wow. You guys don’t even have computers. JIMMY OLSEN: HA! That’s a laugh. I started making up interview responses because I lost my pad and pencil. No way I can afford another. Worse, I lost my coffee thermos yesterday. I could really use a shot o’ joe. DOC BUGS: Oh really. Maybe we can work something out… [Editor’s Note: This strip is dedicated to our brave men and women in the newspaper field who desperately need your support. Drop a quarter in a dispenser today and read. What? They’re fifty cents now? FORGET IT!]
Snow is definitely OLD slang for cocaine, at least 1920’s maybe even 1880’s.About the thermos™: Is it just a common thermos filled with cocaine, or is the drug between the Dewar flask and the case, or is it a quart case with a pint Dewar flask creating a large hiding space?
Maybe the bag will be discovered by a performer during the openingnite performance. Maybe during the drugstore scene, or the graveyard scene in Act II.
Uh-oh. So now Kandikane is unwittingly carrying around a thermos full of snow. Among the bad possible outcomes: she or Vitamin or baby Kane accidentally ingests some of the dope; crazed Little Doc comes after her in pursuit of his snow and does grievous harm to her, baby Kane, or Vitamin, or takes one or all as hostages; Vitamin tries to rescue Kandikane from the threatening Doc and gets shot (but not killed). Or. everybody in the cast of this part of the arc catches some version of the plague from Mitch.

That looks like Doc’s white cuff retrieving the goods in panel 3.
