Looks like Riger was so involved with the yard that he too missed Ferret and Ape’s momentary presence. They are safe .. for now. Will their next stop have a live resident ?

Do my eyes deceive me or is that, can it be…a POLICE CAR?!! YAY!!!! For a moment, I thought Tracy and Sam would have to hightail it to the bus stop to catch the 3:15! And yes, good job, Riger. You managed to spot a shoe print but missed the carload of criminals that just pulled up. Great job!

For anyone that is a current comic book reader, Riger’s set-up of multiple drone control consoles reminds me of the Joker War run in DC Comics a few years ago. In it, Joker gains access to all of Batman’s tech and uses an army of Joker goons to control a fleet of drones out of the basement of Wayne Enterprises. Makes me wonder what would happen if the bad guys ever got a hold of all that Tracy tech!

Isn’t “bad guys get hold of all that Tracy tech” the standard plot of many stories?

He did say maybe he would have something for them when they got back, so maybe he did get footage of the car with Ferret & Ape.

So, we finally see the police car. I can’t tell from today’s strip where it was all this time, just somewhere near the hedge. It’s hard to say what Riger may have for them when they get back. I can’t guess what that might be.

Where are Tracy and Sam going to be an unmarked police car or SUV? The city government in Tracy land is behind the power curve.

When they get back, the drone caught an image of Ferret and Ape’s car leaving the scene. Probably zoomed in on the license plate number. Yeti is not going to like this. Their pink slips are being prepared. He will not be providing any character references for them either.

I think our thugs were caught by the drone, though it isn’t shown here. If so, that’s for a reveal tomorrow. Assuming that, sometimes when you step in it, you need to sand there and pretend like it’s normal. Ferret and Ape should have stuck around and cooked up a story for their being there. They could also have gotten intel for Yeti. It’s not like I’m on their side, but they aren’t very good at being criminals. That said, there’s something else afoot here if they weren’t whoever was there before.

I see time with the MCU had aged Riger considerably. Probably the endless hours of surveilling donut shops and being stuck there, in the office.

So today we get a good view of the other side of the driveway, without any other police, ambulance, or Hazmat vehicles in sight, which one would expect if this was a major crime scene complete with bodies & boxes of poison. (& to those who argue Tracy & Sam came later, we did see at least one other place officer last week). Not to mention all of today’s action could have occurred in one panel. & not to mention this storyline has turned into a real snoozer.

And so the MCU finishes its part in the investigation of the death of Boss Moran. All the rest of the forensics, ME stuff, and routine police coverage either has been or will be done by others “offstage.” When Sam and Tracy get back to HQ (and it looks as though Sam may be driving for the return trip, since in panel 3 Tracy is standing by the right-side, passenger-side, open car door), Riger will have vetted more digital recording of drone footage and, I’m guessing, will then have the Car That Stopped Nearby with a big lug and a mousey dame for viewing by Tracy and Sam, who may be able to identify Ferret and Ape as Apparatus apparatchiks….
