Congrats to the creative team … the last several days have been a masterclass in telling a story visually in the comic strip medium without words … & a special shout-out to the letterer, for the best sfx for a smartphone camera I’ve ever seen, or “heard”. The sound leaps off the page!
Them who called it done good. Love the heated look on Sarah and the sly look on Lee. You can see her right eyeball casting that sideways glance There’s going to be a hot time in the old bedstead tonite ! ;-)
Okay, leaving aside the probability this is police harassment, given how little circumstantial evidence the police have to go on at the moment…
The Police Department is basically announcing to The Heavenly Host, “Hey, the police are watching you!” Isn’t it a little stupid to let the suspects know they are being watched? I mean, you’re speeding down the highway and a cop car pulls behind you, do you slow down? (Heck, most of us slow down with a cop car behind us, even if we’re not speeding.) So, how does warning the suspects they’re being watched serve any good purpose?
Tracy could have just sent an engraved business card, “We’re watching you,” if “rattling the cage” means a really stupid gesture. Yeah, with more hard evidence then pressure on a suspect may have value. At this point, just harassment.
A room full of people. I have no idea what made Sarah suspect Lee in particular of tailing her. Maybe Sarah is here “reading” the Dick Tracy comic strip along with us?
Everybody and their brother has a camera these days . Everybody contributing their fare share to the surveillance society we live in . Dillinger wouldn’t have stood a chance today .
Aren’t modern comic strips great? Especially reboots of classic comic strips. The old strips were content to tell compelling and easily relatable stories using 3 and sometimes 4 skillfully illustrated panels a day. But nowadays we have…uh, what the heck is going on here anyway?

Good morning™, all!
Since Sarah apparently needed a good picture of Lee, I think that means that she doesn’t know who Lee is. Lee is making no effort to hide from her.
