Mark: Dan, I think the question that many people might have for you now is, "What with all the Cuisinarts, tennis lessons, and TR-4s, can I really afford to mellow?" Dan: I hear you, Mark. One of the most common misconceptions about Mellow today is that you have to be upwardly mobile, economicwise, before you can flash on it! Well, it just isn't so! In fact, the extensive research I did during my fellowship at the California Institute for the Mellow strongly suggests otherwise! Mark: Fellowship? You were a Mellow fellow? Dan: IT's all in my chapter "Mellow on a Fixed Income."

I owned a TR-4 back then. Loved it, even if it precluded me from being a mellow fellow. Life is full of choices.

“How To Be Mellow on $5 A Day”

The video reminded me of a woman who fell in love with a french horn player. She said he wasn’t much of a kisser, but she really liked the way he held her.

Sorry for the unintentional duplicate.

Shouldn’t that be mellowship instead of fellowship?

Mellow fell by the wayside. It was blasted away by a whole different, more in-your-face, active kind of self-indulgence.

Thanks for the first video, Al. I was thinking, when I read the strip, of the Triumph I had after college, which actually was a TR4A. I loved that little rattletrap. I traded a ’64 Corvair for it (got $50 trade-in, even). I put my first radial tires on it, and it drove like a different car. I still miss it.Very basic: motor, transmission, seats. You couldn’t run the lights, heater and radio at the same time. Not that they worked all that well individually, but it was fun to drive, especially with the top down.

Have you never been mellow?Have you never tried to find a comfort from inside you?Have you never been happy just to hear your song?Have you never let someone else be strong?

Can’t remember the name of the organization that Gladstone Gander was in that had the official greeting (which two members took in turns and finished in unison): “Hail, Fellow!Fine fellow!Mellow fellow!HELLO! HELLO!”

One of the Classics! I was in grad school when it first appeared. Split a gut laughing about it then and did the same today.
