Ok. That’s gonna go down in history as the best age verification lie ever. I wish I thought of this one.

My brother, who was prematurely bald, had the opposite issue.

In college, one of my classmates had a constant 5-oclock shadow and looked much older than he was. Then his baby-faced father came to visit. Folks who didn’t know either of them automatically assumed the kid was the father and vice versa.

Duke has taught him well.

I once worked on a community theatre production with this one girl. I would have bet she could walk into half the bars in that college town and not get carded. She was 12. But she neither looked nor acted 12.

I’ll see anything with either Edie Falco’s mother or Thora Burch’s mother. I am not sure of they made anything together, but they were contemporaries.

When I was about 35 (nearly half my life ago), I dated a woman who was 40; she kept getting carded, and felt insulted by it. I kept telling her to take it as a compliment.

I cold grow a full beard at 15, as did most of the males in my family), and walked into an over-18 bar with an instructor from my high school to meet up with someone to give them a ride. My instructor was in his late 20s, but had a babyface. He got carded; I didn’t. I couldn’t tell the story at school under penalty of flunking his class

This probably explains the signs I see in stores that say “WE CARD EVERYBODY”.
