They allow dogs in the dorm?

I once had to apologize to one of my students telling him, “I’m sorry but my dog ate your homework.” Luckily he got a kick out of the new twist to the old excuse.

So in the Harris Codex, lying is not equal, or equivalent to, cheating.

I bet the college trustees are secretly in cahoots with the term paper-selling company and receive kickbacks!!

The dog ate my computer? This one isn’t that old.

Bingo.

Dog? Zipper has a dog? Why haven’t we seen him up to now?

(Answer: Because Trudeau just created him.)

So, the dog ate your paper? I already know you write your papers using a computer. So, you have 10 minutes to print out another copy, or get a zero.

If that fails, there’s always “steal”

Back when I was in college, before computers, a senior had his thesis in his car. He went to Boston for the weekend and his car got stolen.

If the dog doesn’t eat it, he can p*ss on it. It’s a win-win

Seriously? That’s an excuse so old, it’s become a cliché!

I’m reminded of an old long-distance phone commercial where various people gave excuses for not calling their mom. One person, with a completely deadpan voice and expression:
