This scene was the distraction that allowed Holly to sneak into Doc’s car. A pistol shot through the neck for the officer, and a topping off with napalm should clean things up. I guess that this officer is not going to be one of the rats we encounter later.
At least it was a clean through-and-through. Chase won’t need to waste time pulling out the slug. Good thing Apex hasn’t upgraded everyone to Zero weapons.
Called it yesterday…..the NDDC will not allow any interference once they are on scene. It will be explained the officer was interfering with a sanctioned NDDC operation and would not stop. NDDC personnel feared for their safety as the officer tried to take the napalm gun from one of the NDDC agents. Deadly force was used so the scene could be properly taken care of.Condolences to the widow.
I know this corporation basically owns everything, but once their employees start shooting cops in public spaces the media will be hard to spin in their favor.
My recollection is that Lyn has made eye-contact with Wally only twice. First time was just before the baby shower where Holly got the buddibombs that killed her husband (and Ethel). The second time was just before Holly accidently killed her baby. Were there more times of eye-contact? If not, then it might have been the “narrator’s” way of emphasizing the decisions Holly made that resulted in the deaths of her child and husband. The foundation for her guilt.
You know how corporate security forces in our world often don’t respect the lives of civilians or even police in foreign countries, and treat them like collateral? They don’t consider there being any laws to be above. They don’t act that way in our own country, but apparently in Hillside, they do. Maybe a multinational like Apex considers all countries foreign and roughshods them all equally.
So Doc has to have been unconscience when he mutated. He does make it with Holly to Endtown.Right now looks bad for both of them.I do hope Holly does get into Doc’s car because that would make sense.Thankfully this is a flashback of sorts, so we know they make it. I would be on pins and needles if this was new and no reassurance of anything, like when the dittos made an illusion that Wally and Holly died.
Tip to Veteran, If you walk into a bar and hear a person bragging about being a Navy Seal… you can be assured that he is/was not! If you talk too freely about your military action, you will only sound braggadocios. Be humble, taking a life is nothing to brag about.
Trolls generally thrive on accusing others of being liars online because they envy the fact that the other people have lives. Continuing to repeat the same accusations in the face of mass resistance proves that point.
On the subject of the other kind of lurking monster, I wonder where poor Lyn has gotten to.
I’m not sure the shooter was aiming at the cop. No one fired at the police until Doc Chase showed up and the shooter saw him. The cop could just have been in the line of fire with Doc being the actual target. If Doc had unpleasant dealings with Apex and knows more than they want him to, and they don’t want him there, he would make a convenient bystander. Or maybe they did want him there. Knowing Holly is his step-daughter, they could have set up the Hollisters to get Doc there to get rid of him.
At first I wondered if these NDDC just happened to be wearing the biosuits that would be identified with the Topsiders. This strip makes it clear, these guys are where the TS came from. They have the same spirit.
One of the reasons I deleted my Facebook and Twitter accounts were people like macewanmouse. Twenty-somethings with nothing better to do than bait people online into responding to their taunts.
The only way to beat them is to not get into a conversation with them. Ie., don’t feed the trolls.
Sooner or later, they all run into Big Billy Goat Gruff, and drown.
Love Endtown, Aaron. Lost my wife to a mitochondrial disorder, and watching Wally and Holly’s story is especially poignant for me.

Monday’s strip established these guys in the suits as bastards…today’s strip establishes them as murderous bastards…

I just started thinking that police was right of being suspicious, because it does look more like destroying evidence than making a quarantine.
Never trust bunch of guys who brings torches and hide their identity.

@ Veteran. What a colorful life you seem to have led! Is there any service you haven’t been connected with?

There’s still cop #2 to worry about. Shoot or spin?

Now I think Cop #2 comes into the game and also some NDDC guys have to die in the upcoming shootout. And Doc can grab Holly and escape.
