Is she bemoaning her looks or her weight? She was jogging when the wolves chased her, so possibly the weight. And I don’t think that phone call should be answered.

If you thought of yourself as athletic, thin and beautiful before the mutation it must be tough to be morphed into a pig.

I’m beginning to wonder if the guy in the picture is Leo. He and Allie met Wally at the beginning of this story. He died before they got to Endtown.

I’m pretty sure someone’s offering her something she would be better off refusing.

Love the detail. Regular height room with door handles, light switches etc lowered for a shorter mutant.

I really like the panel with the mirror image. That was clever! What a realistic thing for her to do, but to think of drawing that, that is sharp.

Even has a second, lower, peephole in the door. I wonder what the rectangles with the two dots are, one on the wall, up high and one on the door, down low just above the chain lock.

I’m also surprised the suicide rate isn’t astronomical. Formerly attractive people turned into what for them are disgusting caricatures of their former selves? Valley girls, models, actors/actresses and other “beautiful people” would be offing themselves by the dozens, daily. You’d be hard pressed to walk without stepping on a body.

I know the feeling. I’ve always been pear-shaped, and I still have relatives who expect me to lose weight. Fat shaming DOES… NOT… WORK, PEOPLE!! Never did, and never will! It appears Jacob Jackrabbit’s policy about “embracing your animal form” is far easier said than done when you’ve become something you hate.

This little piggy went to market. This little piggy went back home. This little piggy wished for roast beef. This little piggy had none. And this little piggy cried, in her home.

SERIOUSLY… September 19 Strip: “THERE IS NO MUTAGENIC VIRUS”… does no one in Endtown care about this? Aaron Marx showed it to the ENTIRE TOWN. Yet no one mentions it!?! Doesn’t this bombshell at least deserve some followup?

Of course all the comments from earlier today are gone… so I will re-postulate my speculation. Given the picture on the wall, might this be Mrs. Leo? We know he was married…. hmmm ;-)

While we’re on the subject, I don’t like that they show all the comics at the top when you go through them. It used to just show the ones that had an update today.

What in hell goes on with GoComics doing something like this? I couldn’t get online first thing in the morning…I come on, I can’t find how to print anything, and I’ve already had to sign in three times already. This is the kind of thing that drives people away!

GoComics looks different. I don’t mind change, if it’s in an attempt to improve the success of the site. For GoComics, as with all on-line publishing, it’s been a constant struggle to find a way of making money, as the business model moves from the old newspaper syndication system to the net where people can get most things free. Aaron Neathery gets paid by GoComics for writing and drawing Endtown for them. But, like any of the GoComics stable, it’s not much. So, if GoComics can change its site in an attempt to freshen it up and enhance its attractiveness with a view to getting more subscribers, I for one can live with the fact they’ve rearranged the furniture.

Look at the tiny details Aaron puts in. This apartment was originally inhabited by a tall person, and not it has been modified by a small one. The door handle, light switch and peep hole have been repositioned closer to the floor. The security locks are new, as they have no evidence of having been repositioned. So… Endtown has now become a town of fear.

I’d much rather be talking about “Endtown” and the comic and all…but GoComics is spoiling it for me. I’ve had to sign in more than a dozen times, pretty much every time I clicked on a different comic…several times after signing in I was sent to a different comic…their “get in contact with us” link on their blog page about this doesn’t work at all…and I don’t know what was so wrong with the way it was that they felt the need to change it. It spoils things for me, near completely—-and it’s all something I actually pay GoComics for.

Love the details Aaron has drawn. Human-sized dwellings modified for now-shorter residents. Re: the phone ringing… could be either the mayor checking up on how she’s doing, or someone from the wolfish part of the community calling to threaten her after they heard about the incident on the street. Endtown fraying at the seams?

The Dec 28 strip shows a couple of “Missing” posters, both of which are pigs. I guess that’s significant to this arc.

Is it just me or is it weird that the mirror-image is looking at the same phone that the character is looking at? Wouldn’t the mirror image be looking back and to the right of the panel…?

I have a feeling she is Leo’s wife. He was killed saving Wally from a topsider he refused to kill. Funds may running out. To keep a roof over her head she may have to go to work…….foraging topside for supplies. Might cover why she was running. Pig in training. Remember the best pay and perks goes to those who forage.

Supposition time. How about the pigs are being kidnapped by minions of Jake Jackrabbit to create a predator/prey separation? I know it’s similar to the Zootopia plot, but here it would be a method of extending the diminishing supplies by forcing the “predators” to the surface.
