    Let’s see: Germany, Austro-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire, I can’t tell you on which side the various Balkan States aligned – they seemed to choose up sides based who they hated most: Germany or Russia. Romania switched sides, twice.

    I found using a quote such as “Yesterday, December 7, 1941—a date which will live in infamy—the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.” In my essays really helped.
