I let my teenage daughter have a messy room. I also let her do her own laundry. When she was ready to leave for college, I told her I was going to clean out her room after she left. She took care of that herself. Maybe disposing of the āevidenceā?
Paige is lucky. I hate laundry, so I stopped doing it for the kids literally as soon as they were tall enough to get their clothes out of the washer and into the dryer.
We gave our kids an allowance. If their room was dirty, I cleaned it and subtracted my labor from their allowance, if they didnāt do their choirs, same thing; if they grades fell below B, same thing. It is amazing how much kids love money and will do their choirs and fly straight. Especially, when the first few months, they owed us money since there was no more money to subtract. They figured it out and eventually, they paid for their phones.
Might want to also add a muzzle on that list to keep that alligator mouth of yours shut to protect your hummingbird behind from getting into troubleā¦..
My mother said if she had to clean our rooms, everything that wasnāt put away when she got there was taken away from us. She meant it and she did it. By the time I was 6, I learned to keep my room neat and my clean clothes put away.

I put a lock on my bedroom door when I was a kid and my old man made me take it off. :-(

That resolution has to be made by mom.. a bit of tough love before it is too late. Under my roof.. my rules; you want room service, move out.

My brother changed his lock when he broke up with his girlfriend, and she kicked the door in!

My siblings and I never had enough āstuffā to make anything near to that kind of a mess even possibleā¦ not even when we shared a bedroom.
I guess comic strips are a rich folksā domain.

My mom called my bedroom The Swamp from MASH. So I used my wood burning kit to make a sign and hung it above my bedroom door
