I was brought up with my parents saying that I should always become a manager, because that’s how you made the big bucks. I didn’t like it, wasn’t any good at it, and got out. More power to those who like it and are genuinely good at it.
Moving to management level means one forgets what mid and lower level work is like. Sometimes managers from the ranks come up with ideas to ‘improve’ the process but they often don’t work well, because ‘move-ups’ seem to forget how the system actually works.

Sorry, but government regulations require that we have at least one worker.

He must be talking about upper management. My son in middle management is on call 24/7 when problems arise.

In Management he can work less. If he is stupid, lazy, rude, grossly incompetent, black and racist he can work(?) for HR.

Wall if he does nothing, he will surely advance into management…!

Sounds like the calumny I’ve heard about county road crews: 1 actual worker and 5 supervisors standing around watching him.

Managing people is like herding cats…let me know if that’s not work.

An alternate response would be “No, I’m in Management”.

they offered me a management job but I turned it down, I didn’t want the mandatory lobotomy.
