And here’s the story about one guy who puts the “incredible” into “incredibly difficult”:
World Records in Ball Dropping
2001-08-06 • Presidential Daily Brief: “Bin Ladin Determined To Strike in US” • Bush did nothing.
2001-09-11 • 5 weeks after PDB • 9/11 attacks • Death toll: 2,977
2020-01-07 • Presidential Daily Brief: “Analysts concluded [coronavirus] could be a cataclysmic event.” • Trump did nothing.
2020-03-11 • WHO declared a global pandemic.
2020-04-15 • Trump suspended US funding of WHO.
2020-06-07 • 21 weeks after PDB • US death toll: 112,096*
For comparison • Korean War (33,686) + Vietnam War (58,220) + Afghan War (7,970): 99,876
Future targets • WW1 (116,516) • WW2 (418,500) • Civil War (~620,000)
*For those of you whose math skills are a little rusty, imagine each dead body on 9/11, then line up 37 more beside it.
God I love Our Country!
I’ve been going to work this whole time and my neighbors thank me but keeping me up all night partying and making noise.
Thanks, Jef, and AMEN to that final statement. And stay safe yourself.

Love that! Could not have said it better!
I’m not very far into my comics this morning and already weeping. I appreciate all of the artists thanking all of us essentials.
Actually that shirt would go with any denim or khaki.
The Barber WON!! 7 -0 Michigan Supreme Court slapped Gov W down. Regardless of ideological beliefs, everybody on the court sided with the barber!!

It’s showing up in other comics too.
If profits benefit front line workers, where can I buy that shirt?
Coincidentally, surfeit and surfer both show up in the NYT crossword today.
will the shirt be available in his store? Reclaim Hawaiian shirts!
not only does Frazz have the suggested symbols , this shirt goes beyond. Any clue what the additional icons stand for?
I would love to have a shirt like that. Can anybody manufacture them?
Amen.
I will buy that shirt when it comes out.
While the “thanks” is both justified and proper, what bothers me is the lack of ability to see this infection in context and scaled to the population.
.
1918 Spanish Flu killed 675,000 in the United States.
The US population then was 103,000,000
So far— COVID-19 deaths in the US are 111,000
Today’s population in the US is 331,000,000
Just roughly upscale the Spanish Flu numbers to today and it is bad, but still much less of a killer than 1918.
The BIG ONE is still coming, people.
Great tribute strip. Cute and explains the meaning of the symbols.
Thank you and you are welcome.

Jeff, Ilove your heart!
Thank you for putting water and power on there! From someone who delivers water and power to the West!
That last line! It took my breath away.
