Just like Caulfield, Janus didn’t have much of an attention span.

One foot pointing forward and one back? With knees to match?? —or maybe, walk like a humanoid when going “thata way” and like a stork when going “tother way”

The Australian coat of arms has a kangaroo and an emu because neither can take a backward step (they can, but it’s difficult for them).

So one face is to front – as in aligned with front of body and feet, in the way we usually see it. The other face looks to the rear. Who is to say the latter isn’t the correct orientation?

Janus may have been trying to get mortals to understand the principle about those who fail to study history are doomed to repeat it.

There is a reason that the windshield is bigger than the rear view mirror.

I’m duckfooted, so it’s quite easy for me to point my toes both ways. :-)

I don’t think there were ever any depictions of Janus showing anything below his head, so for all we know he also had TOES pointing in both directions. (Hey, it’s mythology, where they also had women with snakes for hair, horses with wings, and giants with only one eye, so obviously biology is very flexible.)

I thought at first Frazz was talking about Janis, but he hasn’t mentioned a woman who is missing a piece of her heart.

Kids are always moving on to something else. Of course, they don’t have so much to look back on.
