Hand me downs, charity donations, yard sales, etc… there are plenty of ways to not throw out clothes, especially kids clothes. Growing up, my mom did a few yard sales to get rid of our old kids clothes. Once most of it was gone, she donated the rest.

Once I found my style, i stuck with it. Now I can mix 15-year-old sweaters with a brand-new skirt.

I used to get hand-me-ups from my younger sister, who grew faster than I.

The so-called adults these days should get scolded (and fired).

I never quite understood the impulse to keep up with fashion. Perhaps my interests and hobbies didn’t include the prerequisite to wear a suit, tie, pressed slacks, and shiny shoes. I suppose fishermen don’t care what their buddies wear when they’re out on the lake at 6:00 a.m. Neither do the fish.

Lost weight and a couple inches of height over the last decade. Not wanting to spend money every time I lost more of either. I kept clothes and used suspenders to keep loose pants at right height and let shirts bag. Then found that hot washing cycle shrunk most pants just enough to fit without suspenders and shirts fit better, too.

As to whether or not they look good, let’s just say that there are panhandlers on street dividers who dress better. As Popeye would say, I yam what I Yam and I’m too old to care.

If only we had biodegradable clothing made from natural fibers.

I can still easily fit into clothes that fit me in high school (much to my wife’s chagrin).

I had two older brothers, most of my clothes had passed through their dressers at some point, my little brother wore a lot of faded stuff. Now he likes the newest and freshest clothes that he can get.
