It’s an age-old tradition. That’s what I used to do with my tooth fairy money.

It’s a possibility, Shawm.

Shawm is not incorrect, at least for some kids. I saved my quarters and usually bought paperback books (Peanuts collections, for instance); back then, they only cost 75 cents.

Kate is just testing if the kap is good.

All part of the fun of growing up. :)

Man, 5 bucks. I got fifty cents, maybe a dollar coin if I was lucky. And I’m only in my mid-twenties. What did you all get for a lost tooth?

Mutual agreement: tooth fairy gets tooth, kid gets money to spend on candy, kid needs to go to the dentist again and the cycle continues. It’s a symbiotic relationship.

What better way to spend your tooth fairy money than on candy?

Our dentist used to offer candy after you visited. Even though I was a kid, I knew what he was up to!

That brings back a vivid memory of my brother and I riding our bikes to the local confectionary and buying enough candy for a sugar-induced coma.

and Halloween was invented by dentists. Oh sure, they give out toothbrushes on that day, but it’s just a front to cover their tracks.

When I was Kate’s age, I would buy Batman comics!

We got a nickel. And we were told to put it into our college fund savings account. The one the parents used to cover moving costs.

i used to get a quarter for a tooth. my dentist gave out vouchers to the 2 local drug stores for an ice cream out of the freezer chest after each visit. i always got an ice cream sandwich.
