I saw a program once that talked to a guy who invented deep fried Coca Cola. He mixes the Coke with a frying batter, drizzles the mix into the oil, it fries almost instantly, and then he scoops it out, lets it drain for a moment, then serves it.
I imagine deep fried milkshakes would be done in a similar manner.
I suppose one could form a glass out of pie shell dough, fill it with the milkshake and deep fry it, but that might become quite a mess should the shake leech out of the shell. Or, one could fry the glass shaped shell and then fill it with the milkshake thus preserving the cool quality to the shake. Using the latter method, one could pre-fry the shells and just nuke them just before filling with the shake.
It’s been done, A deep fried milkshake. In the UK they make the deep-fried treats by mixing milkshake powder with milk and eggs before pouring into an ice cube tray and freezing. Once frozen, the milkshake cubes are dipped in flour and batter and deep fried for two minutes, creating a battered cube with an oozing milkshake custard center.
I used to get fried ice cream at GuadalaHarry’s in Boston, but when I went to work in southern California, up to my yin-yang in Mexican culture, I didn’t find a single place that offered it!

In Scotland, they famously deep-fry Mars Bars.
That’s called a Milky Way here in the colonies.
