I don’t even have to eat the donut to gain the weight. Just walking past a bakery will do it. It’s like just smelling baked goods can put the weight on.
I have the opposite problem – work 2 weeks to gain one pound, then do grocery shopping and lose not only the gained pound, but also 2-3 bonus pounds. OY!
I feel you Garfield, I lost about 10-15 pounds over the early winter right after my sister died because I couldn’t eat and was only eating because I needed it and I also had to eat with my diabeties meds but the last 2 months I have been back to my stress eating and gave gained them back, I still have days where I don’t want to eat but not as bad as November-March.

Here’s how this should have been worded:
First panel: “Ever notice how it takes two weeks to lose a pound…”
Third panel: “…and only two seconds to gain it back?”
Jim left out the question mark and the dots.

I suppose that is annoying. The moral of the story: dieting is futile.
