My first time having a real Philly Cheesesteak was disappointing because I did not know a true PC was meat and Cheezwiz. What made it even more disappointing was the meager rations. I like them with all the fixin’s.
According to Sinatra, the best cheesesteak sandwich came from White House Subs in Atlantic City, NJ legend tells he would have them flown out air express to Las Vegas when he was in residence there. BTW the old maternity wing of Atlantic City Medical Center was named in his honor despite his wish that a huge anonymous donation remain that way.
Only had one cheese steak in Philly at Sonny’s. It was very good. Didn’t try any others, my arteries couldn’t take more! Up here, the friendly feud is between Markey’s and Brown’s for lobster.
Our town got ahead of the competition. Before the Krispy Kreme moved their main manufacturing plant and store from N. Charleston to West Ashley, Charleston, North Chuck built a police sub-station next door.
Believe it or not, I had a really good cheesesteak at a restaurant called Sparrow’s in St. Kilda, which is southeast of Melbourne, Australia. One of the investors was from Camden. The restaurant had photos of Philadelphia locations.Pity they closed that restaurant a few months later. They still have a food truck, and run the kitchen in a bar north of Melbourne.

Pat’s? Geno’s? I prefer Mama’s up the Main Line in Bala Cynwyd!

When I visited Philly, I tried several well-reputed restaurants, but the best cheesesteak I had was from a street vendor in a park.

The correct answer is not in Philly. You have to Allentown, PA, to The Brass Rail. The absolute best!

Unhealthy debate, more like.
