Reminds me of the Star Trek (original series) episode Mark of Gideon, where every scene of the world is crowded like a NY city subway station at rush hour (before Covids of course).
I like the new way with the birthing rooms and both parents being able to sleep in the room with the baby. When I had my wild child, I was in a standard two person hospital room with another new mother. It was impersonal and felt as much like I had my appendix out as anything, although they brought me a baby every 4 hours around the clock. I don’t think they do that with an appendix.
When my youngest son was born, my husband (now my ex) brought our first-born to the hospital to see his brother. When they left to go home, my oldest said, “We’re just going to leave him here? What if someone else picks our baby?” He was 3 weeks shy of being 4 years old. We still laugh about it.

This gives new meaning to the expression, “Were you dropped as a baby?”

My eldest son shortly after bringing his brother home from the hospital. “He’s too noisy, can you take him back.”

Try to snag one that looks like you or it will grow up with an adoption complex.

I find it interesting that the sign above the window says “MATERNITY” but it is actually the “NURSERY” within the Maternity Ward.
