There is a video on YouTube with a grandma (a baby boomer) who has a rotary phone like we all had back in the 70’s. She shows it to her teenage grandson and asks him how to place a call. He hasn’t got a clue. I was laughing so hard at his confusion.
I’m old enough, by a little, to remember when a “record album” was something with a hinged cardboard cover and multiple paper sleeves inside, each holding a single vinyl (or, earlier, shellac) disc with one song or short instrumental piece on each side, so that the whole thing somewhat resembled a photograph album (for folks who remember what those were). Later, when a collection of ten or more songs could fit on a single “long-playing” vinyl disc, or a single tape cassette, or a single compact disc, people still called it an “album”, even though the packaging was no longer book-like (for folks who remember books).

And if you didn’t have the record you would dial up the DJ.Dial?

c’mon, Luann. I know for a fact that you were in junior high in the 1980s.
You’re only pretending to not know what these things are.

Luann can have the same conversation with her future kids about CDs… but wait…. does she remember them or is she now a “streamer”?

Still a nice chanson, “Michelle, my belle”. I even understood the lyrics way back when and still do.

Panel 1: Nancy’s got either Cream of Mushroom or Cream of Chicken for whatever recipe she’s making from “The Campbell’s Soup Cookbook”..
