Hey, I have an idea. How about we post really stupid titles for every single strip! It’ll be awesome! Bonus points if the same person manages to make it be the first post every single day! Anyone who does that totally isn’t a loser!

No, Sylvester says, “De-thpicable!”

Psst, Luann, have a word with the principal instead and get her canned from another job/situation. LOL

I still see Delta, Luann, and Bernice in those three little girls. The next gen. hehe.

Lying sack of camel ejecta, that’s what Tiffany is.
sarafaye about 11 years ago
I’m kind of bummed to have been wrong in my prediction yesterday. As much as Tiffany the Clueless was getting old, I really didn’t want to see this story continue.
JayBluE about 11 years ago
You’re right! And, thanks!…
JayBluE about 11 years ago
I was going to say how ironic it is, what Tiff is doing, since the afterschool program is called “Kidz 1st”, here!…
JayBluE about 11 years ago
And also recommend “Too Young”, by Nat King Cole/various artists, for the playlist!….

Yeah, how ’bout that! That is an apt description!

actor Mel Blanc stated that Sylvester’s voice is based on that of Daffy Duck…^^Funny story about Daffy’s voice: Blanc came up with the voice on a suggestion from the animators who thought that their BOSS Leon Schlesinger, who spoke with a pronounced lisp would be a perfect model for a crazy cartoon voice (Chuck Jones claimed that he and the other animators had already written up their formal resignations, just in case Schlesinger didn’t appreciate the joke). As it turned out, the boss saw the first Daffy Duck cartoon and didn’t recognise that Blanc was imitating him; if anything he was delighted, saying that the voice was one of the funniest things he’d ever heard!

@JP Dallas
I do, and your “humor” is absolutely not funny. Someone needs to boot you off this board.^^Who made you Judge, I happen to like Jays humour (You actually have to THINK about his puns) and Iprefer that, to someone who attacks a good poster, if you don’t like his sense of humour then SCROLL over them (his posts) and leave him alone; by the way, there is NO rule that you have to be relevant to the actual strip (I know, I checked), but, there is a rule against bullying/personal attacks on other posters, so keep it up and you might get booted.
Mikeyj about 11 years ago
Hmmm, this could work, you get Gunther to dress the kids as “Children of the World” and they can be a kind of “mascot” for the dance
gongji about 11 years ago
Wow, that looks like the national flag of Taiwan! Thanks Greg!
seismic-2 Premium Member about 11 years ago
Actually, drawing flags of the various countries of the world is a perfectly normal (and educational) artistic activity for an after-school program like this. The kids could decorate the classroom with the flags, and Tiffany could just use them for the evening of the dance and then put them back. In this strip, of course, that would make Tiff the greatest villain since Lizzie Borden.
seismic-2 Premium Member about 11 years ago
Where has Luann been all this time that Tiffany was working with the kids? Oh right, Luann was busy untying all those other kids that Tiffany had already lashed to the railroad tracks. Now she is here to rescue this final group of imperiled innocents. Our heroine!!!

Sick.
Sisyphos about 11 years ago
The same five or so logorrheic posters account for the 75-80% of the total posts here daily that I skip over without reading. A pity the count for the “Comments on _Luann”_ is so misleading.………………………………………………………………………..Tiffany has crossed a line from merely obnoxious to genuinely malicious. She needs to be stopped and be re-habbed.

schmid13 about 11 years ago
I don’t see the transgression here. The point about kids is you keep them busy and engaged in the future. Hardly matters what the pretense is to inspire their work. It’s not like this major lie is afoot that violates the sanctity of the child-minder relationship. Let’em draw!

Jay, Dallas has a total of 5 comments, NONE about any strip, ALL griping. Carry on…
+1! Carry on, indeed!

LOL! Kids often see the truth of things.

Guess Tiff didn’t learn anything from the consequences of misleading and scamming the firemens’ meals with TJ. That cost her the Miss Chamber of Commerce gig, didn’t it?

seems like if someone wants to comment you shouldn’t really complain about it. that seems even more petty.

How about tomorrow Tiff comes back and says she asked whether the kids can go to the dance, and she was told that no, they can’t. However, the people who are staging the dance (namely Tiffany’s committee) will give the kids a special Certificate of Appreciation for helping with the decorations, and they will send the kids a photograph that they can post on their wall showing how pretty the school gym (or wherever the dance was held) looked with all the flags pasted up. The kids will have enjoyed drawing the flags, and they will have learned something about the different countries of the world. A win-win situation, all around. Of course, that would never be allowed to happen, because Tiffany must be portrayed as evil, evil, evil!
JayBluE about 11 years ago
Clever composition, there!
JayBluE about 11 years ago
Wow! Like I’ve said, I still read your posts, even though you don’t have to read mine… I admit that seeing what you’ve wrote, that is a bit hurtful, there… I don’t post for some “ego trip”… When I first started posting here, I did what I saw other people doing…. it was already like this, when I first got here, and I’m not doing anything other than just sharing my own things… that’s all… just how is it being an ‘ego maniac", to post what I post? Some post their great artwork, some post funny pictures, some post their own stories… I post what I post… Again, it’s never a person stating dislike for another’s post that’s bothersome, and it doesn’t bother me, at all!… but reading this kind is what really does hurt…
Willow Mt Lyon about 11 years ago
Wouldn’t you know it? Tiffany choses a home coming event that the children wouldn’t be able to attend for them to make decorations for. There are other things the children could get involved in for the home coming, especially if the town is small, and the community attends the games.
Mikeyj about 11 years ago
^^As opposed to attacking the poor guy for having fun? Just skip over him
PMark about 11 years ago
If someone wishes to stay up late at night so he can be the first to post day after day after day, why not? As for myself, I don’t have that kind of ambition.
Argy.Bargy2 about 11 years ago
‘It looks like Luann has been doing nothing, while Tiffany has been engaging the kids in a great activity, even if the kids don’t end up going to the dance’….. Hmm. When you leave your house and whoever you live with stays behind, do you assume that they are doing nothing while you’re working all day, because you can’t see what they’re doing? This is a three panel comic. It would be difficult to split the panels in half and show what two characters are doing at the same time, wouldn’t it? Why assume that just because one character isn’t in view, that they are sitting around starring into space?

You better have a SERIOUS talk with Tiffany, Luann.
milania about 11 years ago
Oh, please. Kids don’t care what they do as long as they aren’t bored.
ACTIVIST1234 about 11 years ago
Yeah, making international flags is a GREAT after-school project— too bad she told the kids they might get to go. But let’s remember, these “flags” will be child-made, child quality. High school students would not want these at a significant event.
locake about 11 years ago
The after school program must have a schedule of activities. Plus a supervisor for the 2 assistants. Making flags from around the world is educational. The kids will soon find out what a liar Tiff is when they don’t get to go to the dance.
Argy.Bargy2 about 11 years ago
Sorry, but I’m still stuck on your pink ribbons and lace comment to seismic…haven’t met any Paraguayan chickens, myself, and don’t know quack about the mambo. Was that the big sensation at your ‘spirit dance’ back in ’54? And where can I get an evil-ometer? Sounds useful.

The dance committee will be overjoyed when they find that Tiffany has taken their hard fundraised dollars and brought back decorations that look like they were made buy second graders.

“I would like to make a comment about comments and commentators in general. . . .”
You really do have a way with words Levy; that was very well said!
Mam58 Premium Member about 11 years ago
Tif shouldn’t have let them think they could go to the dance, obviously, but there’s nothing wrong with having them make the flags. It’s a good project for them and most kids would like doing it without any mention of a dance.

One day I spotted an acquaintance at the dock readying his boat for a run. Walked over and asked him and his friends what was up. His reply was “Just going out to do some shark fishing. Wouldya like to come, chum?” Thinking he was either baiting me or planning to bait with me I declined his offer.Luann needs a boat…
TORAD_07 about 11 years ago
As a child, I was fascinated by flags. But I can guarantee that PaulM1957 isn’t going to like flags after his post attacking IamJayBluE attracts a boatload of ’em!
I certainly voted to “flag” him/her… I’m amazed the post is not yet deleted!
Jay – IMHO, I think the best solution in this case is “defiance.” Keep doing what you’re doing… Drive ’em crazy! This place is supposed to be fun. And you help make it that way!
ORMouseworks about 11 years ago
“…I just would like to see justice fall on another character every so often, especially TJ.” I agree with you on that! He can be such a slimeball at times. I haven’t seen or heard from him lately…I wonder if the Health Dept. shut him down…(insert LOL here) ;)
ORMouseworks about 11 years ago
How true about commentators and comments and the comment board! Let’s see: I saw Sally at the seashore with seashells…only in this case Leviticus’s post about the comments on the commentators’ posts on the comments board make perfectly good sense… ;)

The “F” bomb, Paul, Really??? ^Yeah, and believe me, my mouse found that flag, quick! I deleted my response, but all it said that it was really classy of him, to use that language… -And this is one time I didn’t enjoy the irony!

As some have said, when you want to be, your posts can be entertaining, as well.. but there are days when…. I don’t know… – This is one thing that your “two cents” need to stay jangling in your pocket on. Count how many times I’ve posted, today. Count how many times you have posted, today. What does this tell you? Either, A: You just like to “stir the pot”, or B: You are being hypocritical, and don’t realize it. Also, you are taking sneaky attacks, in the form of “Judas-like maneuvers”… trying to coyly feign a pseudo-friendly demeanor, while sneaking up with a back-hand at the same time… there was a time that you put on your profile that you were trying to be the “number one poster” and catch up to NG (with upwards of 70,000 posts, BTW). Though you have since deleted it, the fact that you have posted numerous times today makes it so that as you point your index finger, there are three others on your hand, staring right back at you….
sarafaye about 11 years ago
Pretty please can we stop correcting each other on whose posts we’re responding to? Sometimes we don’t think of anything to say until someone else has replied to the same thing. Is it really necessary to go back and hunt down the original comment? Can’t we just let the conversation flow?
Miles VanDelay about 11 years ago

There were very many clever and entertaining posts and responses today that I really enjoyed. Even amidst some ugly and unwarranted criticisms. This is an open forum with Many styles of posts. Skip what you don’t like. I still think tiffs little white lie is no big deal. I don’t think this falls into the realm of a serious breach that throws kids into conniptions. Guess we’ll see.
sarafaye about 11 years ago
Sara is not in a position to tell anybody what to do. She merely suggested that responding to them escalates things. It bums me out to read 150 comments of people being mean to each other.
JayBluE about 11 years ago
I guess if I were to do a “Riddler” style pun here, I’d say: Bison and Tennille… has to do with the number of comments….
