This is so funny, and sweet, and nice to see Brad in that father role as well. Of course she is doing trick or treating with him, Toni probably being on duty, and Jonah? Well if you read the strip regularly you know about that punk.

Ahhh – C’mon old guy – it was worth another candy to let her explain her trick (very cute).

Why is Shannon trick-or-treating in an apartment building?

When I lived in a smaller town, we lived up on a benchland that people must have perceived was riper for candy. Carloads of vans, SUV’s and Suburbans would descend on our neighbourhood and disgorge dozens of kids from lower town that we would never see any other time of year…

Maybe Shannon really IS another of Ann Eiffel’s progeny. She can be conniving, like Les.

Wait till Shannon is going through her bag and finds out the old geezer accidentally gave her his dentures.

My daughter did something similar. She would collect the Q of hearts out of any old deck of cards, a beat up deck, a deck of 51 etc. Until she had about 25. Then anyone who came to the house got the “Pick a car any card” routine. She wouldn’t let anyone see the cards, they all had different back but everyone played along.

Now I understand “trick or treat”

That kid will go far in life…if they don’t hang her first.

Well, ‘The Amazing Kreskin’ she’s not – but at least she’s being nice and polite. A kid asking for another treat is hardly uncommon. But again, no points for No-Show-Jonah – though it would be nice to know more about his story. Perhaps Shannon’s mom was more irresponsible than he is, we don’t know. Maybe he really IS busting his butt trying to earn a living, maybe or maybe not – a lot of questions there.

Tomorrow: A new arc with Gunther and Tiffany starting an exercise plan together. Getting sweaty will have it’s moments!
