Nancy , don’t discount yourself, you got experience as a Domestic Engineer. Being a bartender is below your skill set, but being the Event Manager is your style. I can see you filling the Fuse with major events. Even hiring Luann as a Set Designer. Promote Tiffany as a bartender.

Well The Fuse needs Nancy and Nancy needs The Fuse. My only question: Is The Fuse making money? It never looks busy.

Again, I have to give Nancy props for volunteering to go to work.

I see no problems with her as a manager. She’s a natural. But her as a barkeep? Nah. THAT would make LESS sense than Tiffany being a bartender.

Now (Easy Stomach) Les as bartender? YEAH! Let’s do it! With his nasty attitude, there’d be constant bloody, but entertaining FIGHTS!

YAYAYAYA I was right about Pru being the event manager. I am excited because some of you in here act like you’re an authority of knowledge about this strip. Pru also bartended and I am not sure if that falls under the Cafe Kablooie’s arena or The Fuse itself. My bet is it is under The Fuse because it is the moneymaker. If the DeGroots were smart about making money, they would not agree to having a bartender in TJ’s cafe. The cafe would rake in most of the profits if they had agreed to it. Both my sons worked in restaurants and always said any drink ordered, non-alcoholic and alcoholic, yield the most money for the venues over the food because people have the tendency to order more than just one drink. The drinks are likely intended for the events at The Fuse hence why she wore two hats there.

Yep, Nancy. You’ve been out of the working force for quite a long time and possibly need to learn some skills, especially technology. My bet is Al Gray takes care of The Fuse’s accounting and they review them which I say Nancy doesn’t know much about computers or their programs for the corporate/office jobs. She probably knows simple programs for home accounting which would be a good start. She would be a good role model for Luann if she takes a few skills courses, many of which are offered online and finds a job. Luann sees how that works and possibly be motivated to focus on her life path.

The secret to financial success is KEEP IT ALL IN THE FAMILY; Hire Nancy. Insist that Luann work at the fuse. Hire Brad as part time bouncer; Toni as part time bartender. You can fire just about everyone else.

As if no one saw this coming.

Nancy would be a great fit at the Fuse. As Event Manager, she wouldn’t be conned by Ann Awful, as Pru was. It wouldn’t take up so much time as to affect her bookkeeping.

Bartending may be more problematical. Most restaurants off a limited number of mixed drinks and specialties of the house. So not much problem there. We don’t know how the evening shifts would affect her home life, though. She might get hit on buy the business crowd. Interesting way to get Frank and her back into the Fuse milieu though.

Since she’s still a stay-at-home mom even with her youngest in college, I’m guessing she’s been busy with charity or church work. That’s prime work experience and also the beginning of a network for finding a job. All those little old ladies have older adult children with jobs.

Nancy might have to wear two hats at The Fuse. Event Scheduling/Managing comes under The Fuse’s purview. Kafe Kablooie is a restaurant within The Fuse. It’s managed and owned(?) by TJ. It is not readily apparent where the Bar and bartender job resides. Is it managed by Frank and Nancy themselves or TJ.

It can be hard finding work when you’re older. I’m 60 and have a lot of experience, but I’m absolutely burned out from what I have been doing. I’m looking for something different. Even just getting an interview has been hard. It’s frustrating.

And right now I can’t do any job hunting since I’m in a high risk group for COVID-19! Argh!

I am sure Nancy will end up in the job, in fact why she was not the manager in the first place made no personal sense to me, but then I accede to the fact that I enjoy, but did not create this strip. So where does that lead to? She is good and wise, so maybe that might lead to good things for morally compromised, confused Tiffany, and for bitter Les. She is the exact opposite of a mother figure than Ann happens to be, and is superior in every sense of the word.

Since graduation, the once structured gaggle of kids has turned into complete chaos. Characters in, characters out, characters running all about. There is no question that Nancy will cook the books for the Fusion, or do something else very mundane and realistic. If Greg stepped boldly into the cartoon world, Nancy would become the notorious, masked, midnight, topless pizza delivery lady.

Who does the hiring? Who place the Advertisement? Was it Pru? TJ runs the restaurant. I believe that Pru reported to the Degroots unless Al Gray is running the other portions of the Fuse.
