Sounds simple enough. Write a book predicting your own future acts, then follow through. The trick is making the accomplishments within the possible. And, of course, not allowing life to interfere.

The thinning line between genius and delusion has gotten even thinner thanks to Danae. In her case, it’s delusion of grandeur.

It’ll still probably be closer to the truth than James Frey’s memoir was.

Who knows what wonders Danae’s Skullbook can accomplish? Maybe it can help her control the future! –And why not, you skeptics?

Careful, Danae. You’re venturing into Glen Beck territory with that kind of thinking.

And she doesn’t even need to. Just write what you’ve done already, Danae! That’ll lead to a great future. Or at least a best seller.

Not even all Republicans like some of their leaders and candidates, Submachine. Some politicians are legitimate 3 ring circuses regardless of their party bent.

Danae may have a point… there’s lots of books where people operate on the assumption that it’s been published, it has to be true :) I’m sure everyone can think of at least a few examples….

So it’s official now. Danae’s running for Pres. But will those Stinky Booger-Brained Boys actually vote for her?

I think the fine line between lunacy and and genius actually broke and everything flooded together. It is then called narcissism.

Thirdguy, I’ve been positing that the recent strips have been about Anita Hill and Mrs. Thomas. But yesterday, it occurred to me, what with the grizzly and all, Sarah Palin may be more likely.

I’m ignoring the political knee jerks today and taking the higher ground. But, Wiley is finally helping me understand why I’ve always preferred fiction to non-fiction. At least it’s honest about what it IS.

Where does the new Bush novel fit in? Fiction or non-fiction?

I tried writing a prescient autobiography when I was in high school - so far it hasn’t come true, but there’s still time.

It amazes me that so many people believe that sleaziness and incompetence is restricted to one side of the political spectrum. Step back and look objectively. You will realize that Democrats and Republicans are equally brutal.

Actually, Danae will likely publish it on the internet. Afterall, we all know that if it’s on the internet it has to be true.

But her plan was to not publish the autobiography for 100 years after her death, like Mark Twain, so it doesn’t have to be true because no one that remembers her will be alive. It also defeats her logic that what she writes will come true because it has been published.

I kind of feel sorry for Wiley – he writes a great strip (very funny, very true), and in almost no time, a bar-room argument breaks out.

There’s no question, though, people believe if it’s published, it’s true.

Remember the best-selling “memoir” “Dutch,” by Pulitzer Prize winning biographer Edmund Morris?

It was suppossed to be Ronald Reagan’s autobiography, co-written by Morris. (Nancy chose Morris for the job.)

Only Reagan was in no condition to help, and, the book Morris ended up writing was told from the viewpoint of a fictional best pal of Reagan’s, with scenes Morris made up.

Morris was up front about his creations, but the publisher touted it as the Truth, and Reagan’s fans snatched up the novel - marketed as a biography - believing it to be real.

A self-fulfilling autobiography is like giving Obama the Nobel Peace Prize, on the assumption that some year he’d actually earn it. We’re still waiting! (I wonder if they’ll rescind it after he invades Iran and North Korea…)
