I still remember the first time I saw this strip (and by extension, first saw Spike). Seeing it again now is a weird feeling.

THE SLEEPER HAS AWAKENEDDune jokes aside, it’s the dawn of spike and I for one am here for it. I still love his design, still clearly snoopy in body, but Schultz really shows his talent as just with some very sleepless, tired eyes, a whispy mustache and his iconic fedora, he’s made him completely distinct from his brother. Still one of my all time faviorite peanuts characters though like the other commenter said, still a very weird feeling seeing him like this after being so used to him.

He is so thin he has to move around in the shower to get wet!

Nice to see Spike appear on August 10 – Snoopy’s ‘birthday’ (although it wasn’t August 10 that this particular strip originally appeared) .

Take him to the all-you-can-eat buffet
