Back in the days when I used to commute, the last thing I would do before I left for work was take a shower and get dressed. My hair was still wet when I got in the car. I used a hair dryer called opening the windows.

I am a guy. My hair is short. I comb it straight back, It takes about 5 seconds. When my hair dries, it just “falls into place.” It is the one thing my wife might consider killing me over.

Sally’s reasoning sounds like my old mother. She was very hard of hearing and refused to wear the aid she had. She’d often say, " I’d have no trouble with hearing if everyone would just talk louder." Her hearing was very, very bad, so bad that I had to scream at her to talk to her. My voice was beginning to crack. I finally had to use a chalkboard to communicate.

She’s carrying nothing as she runs in the rain, so did she have the blow dryer stashed in her desk?

That’s what you get for not bringing an umbrella.

Interesting, this was drawn in 75/76 and the portable hair dryer was probably becoming a regular house hold item. Vidal Sassoon and other hair products were more main stream, advertising etc. Memory is foggy but I was in grade 5 the, and hair drying was “Not my dad’s Brylcreem”

I never saw a school with an outlet near a student’s desk, unless it was on the wall.

I’m impressed that they have electrical outlets at their desks. I guess with all the electric gadgets kids have these days, it is a good idea.

Plenty of times in high school I could have used a blow dryer. Not for my hair, to dry my clothes.
