Snoopy’s ears are so flexible. I like the way he holds them over his head when he’s eating or drinking, and how long they get when he’s lying on his house. Charlie Brown said they hold him in place, some one time.
We got our dog when he was 4 weeks old and he was a lone critter till he was two. He ate his food casually, often sitting down during the meal. then we brought in a puppy. He now scarfs his food in record time.
My cats must think they’re dogs then. The vet told me that cats typically “graze” their way through their meals, but mine gobble like there’s no tomorrow. I know I’m feeding them enough, because there’s food left over. They just like to gulp it down.
And then one of them throws up five minutes later, because he ate too fast.
Sasha was a shelter kitten when we adopted her. It took her a while to learn that we had plenty of food for both her & Tiberius, & that she no longer had to compete for food.
Our first two dachshunds were very casual eaters – it wasn’t even “my bowl and your bowl,” it was “our first bowl and our second bowl.” Lindy would typically take a mouthful of food from the kitchen into teh dining room, line the kibbles up in a row, and eat them one by one (Hildy would try to do that but start chewing enroute and immediately have to go back). That changed when we adopted our third, a puppy mill rescue. Misty probably had had to gobble or starve, so she was a little vacuum cleaner. Hildy became a vacuum as well, while Lindy became even slower, but closely guarded her bowl till she finished.

How was the competition for food at the Daisy Hill Puppy farm?

I hope Snoopy let the food settle before he lay down again!

Dogs used to be such proud animals. Foraging the forest for their meals. Now look at them………..

A lot of rude, crude, animal dudes with attitude.

Snoopy, I don’t think things have changed that much. It’s a dog eat dog world.

The rude “animals” are still with us and many are running for office.

Raccoons are certainly the food stealers

Most of those rude animals got podcasts of their own. They like the sound of their own voices

Or it could be because too often meals were scheduled too soon before an important tv show.

and now that behavior resembles Americans today. Without saying which party, as they both are guilty.

Being domesticated means no more rude animals.

You don’t need to gobble up your food Snoopy. The roundhesd is surely not competition.
