I used to identify more as an Independent & would vote for moderate Republicans from time to time. These days I’m a solid Democrat but I don’t blindly vote Blue every time. When it comes to the Presidency I will always vote Democrat however since the Republican nominees are simply intolerable even more so this year. The only remaining candidate I can stomach is John Kasich. Obviously he won’t be the nominee

Food for thought for all of you political commenters that think there is a distinction between Elephant & Donkey…..One of the most effective devices in the salesman’s toolkit is the illusion of choice- always give the prospect 2 things to choose from. For instance: “I have time Tuesday or Thursday, which is better for you?” “Morning or afternoon?”In the case of your politics, it is always one of two choices. (We in Canada have many, but I"m not going to get into that…it has it’s own baggage.) But here’s my point: you think you made a difference voting for Obama after Bush? The same power brokers put BOTH of them into office! Do some research and find out how many members of the Trilateral Commission each of them put into their administrations.“Give me control of a nation’s money and I care not who makes it’s laws” — Mayer Amschel Bauer Rothschild

While it can be said that today’s Republican Party is not the Party of Lincoln, it can also be said that today’s Democrat Party is not the Party of Kennedy. It’s funny listening to Hillary and Sanders arguing over which one is going to give out more Free Pizza than the other. Today’s Democrats are unashamedly Socialist, no matter whether they call themselves “progressive” or “liberal” or “leftist” or whatever. The bottom line is, Republicans have their extremists, and so do the Democrats. Neither one is any good for the nation.

Polarization is nothing new in American politics. There was contention over the controversial abolition movement right from the start, and the balance of slave states to free states maintained by swaying the territories to one position or the other before they would be allowed statehood eventually led to a civil war that nearly destroyed the Union, cost hundreds of thousands of lives and entirely wiped out the wealth and sovereignty of the southern states. There were fist-fights and duels fought between statesmen. The nation was born in a state of polarization between Loyalists and Patriots.People who cannot support their opinions by rational means will often resort to bemoaning the polarization and divisive and controversial stance of their opposition, the last bit of moral high ground left to them in the rising tide of history.
