Don’t worry about whether or not you understand the title. Books like that are written for other academics, not the public. The prof knows that he’ll only sell eighteen copies, plus what he forces his students to buy at an outrageous price.

Eschew Obfuscation

What the prof said is that higher education is now getting rid of institutional researchers, of which, he is one. Most of those write the crap he is writing because if they don’t they get fired (not publishing), but they cost lot’s of money to keep. Therefore, if Rat will wait for a little while he will see this prof on a street corner selling pencils!

Doesn’t matter to Robert if his books are gobbledygook. As long as Prentice-Hall buys them and converts them into overpriced college textbooks, he’s got it made in royalties. The people who wrote the tax code started out this way.

Professor Robert is unfortunately quite the common chap, especially on trendy, elitist campuses. The students mostly fail to understand him, but they love him because they think he must be uber-smart. Half the stuff published by academic presses is crap.Been there….

Don’t drag him away, Goat. Robert is about to reduce Rate to a pulp.
