If Brian is considering retirement, it’s well-deserved and I wish him the best. I also want to thank him for years of morning smiles. I sometimes think that my husband and I would have been a bit like Earl and Opal if cancer hadn’t taken him before we got to be seniors together.

Starting Feb 1st my local paper stopped printing this wonderful comic strip. I hope this doesn’t mean that the writer is cutting back.

I think the writer’s block has been cured thanks to the pooch.

Great Comic strip, love every issue. Consider a flash back strip once or twice a week. Sort of part time.

There was a photo in an old Anglican Digest of a priest conducting the annual blessing of the animals, with a dog standing behind him doing exactly this.

If the conjectures that the strip may be retired are true, I hope they will let it rest in peace instead of putting a new team on it.

There’s nothing that Google Search has to say about a cartoonist named Brian Crane retiring; if he is retiring, it’s going to be stealth retirement.

After a decade in city government, Redding Public Works Director and Assistant City Manager Brian Crane will retire in June, but that’s not the same fella. =^_______^=

You need a change of location. Move into a log cabin in Idaho for the summer. Or take a cruise for a change.

I can’t imagine life without Pickles. This is the only comic my husband reads. If he is retiring, it can’t be because he has run out of ideas……I mean, we are talking about old people here. Come live in my community (a 55+ community), ideas are abounding!

Between family, Facebook, and the news you can always find fodder for comics.

I sure hope Brian is not considering retiring. This is one of my favorites. My folks love it as well. At 92 and 88 years of age, they don’t care much for the “new” comics, but Pickles they love.

And luck fell in his lap and ran down Earl’s leg.

Last week Pickles disappeared from our local paper (New Jersey Star Ledger). I’m devastated, this was the funniest cartoon since Calvin and Hobbes.

He could start dating Opal’s sister! Or their daughter could have a baby!

He didn’t have long to wait…. Wait!!! Rosco!! NO!!!

I’m glad to have his books in my collection, especially “25 Years of Pickles” published in 2015 – you can see all of them listed on Amazon – a new one is coming in September.

When cartoonists reach 60, they should hire a young artist and train that person to take over the strip. I hate to see a strip come to an end.

This gives me vertigo.

The folks at the Kalamazoo Gazette just dropped Pickles. I expressed my displeasure to them. I hope the strip isn’t discontinuing.
