I cook dinner for my elderly parents nearly every day, and they typically have a snack (such as ice cream or cookies) about a half an hour before whatever I’m cooking is ready. Then they fail to clean their plates of what I’ve made them!
I’ve tried sending them to their rooms, but they just laugh.
My first thought was “How did he reach the freezer?” then remembered that not all fridges have top freezers. Or, as others have said, Earl probably gave it to him. :o)
In a well run household, Nelson’s supper would be ready when he was ready. Alas, I’ve found that even when I’m running my own household for only me, it just doesn’t work that way: I’m often ready for dinner before I was ready to prepare it…

I’m thinking a popsicle isn’t going to ruin his supper but I get the joke. Funny!
