In Junior High, we made some good ones, still do once in a while!

This is a teaching opportunity. Show the kid how to fold different kinds of paper planes with different properties. I used to specialize in one that would partially stall repeatedly, which resulted in a long but slow flight with plenty of dips along the way. With the right air currents, I’ve seen that model remain aloft for several minutes at a time.

I think that plane had a gremlin on it.

… or the test flight of an Experimental Design. Try some other ways/directions of folding. Different styles will produce different results.

The problem may be with the thrower, not the designer…has anyone shown Nelson the proper technique in throwing a paper airplane?

Just like Charlie Brown can’t fly paper airplanes in a 1960’s Peanuts Sunday comic strip episode!

It bombs dives, like this place.

I fondly remember teaching my oldest grandson to make paper airplanes … and all the trouble we got into, flying them in the house – especially the ones launched by rubber band propulsion!

Earl was right, it dived and it bombed.

Who among us wouldn’t be thrilled with anything our grandfather had made us?

I think it’s time to put away the paper toys and go raid the cookie cabinet..!!!

Even a dive bomber should be able to pull out at the bottom of the dive.

That’s a talent that few teachers appreciate, at least mine didn’t.
