In my head, he sounds like Grandpa Pickles from the Rugrats.

As Shrek would say, Earl is going the right way for a smart bottom.

Those earplugs must pick up an interesting cacophony of sounds, located in his back pocket. Especially after he eats beans.

My back pocket may be the best place for my hearing aids. I’ll put them in my shirt pocket – they’ll be able to listen even better from there.

You know what … I’ll set them out on the arm of the chair here while I go to the bathroom. Go ahead and continue while I’m gone.

My first technician would turn off his hearing aids when he needed uninterrupted time to concentrate. No distractions allowed. Great idea by a wonderful mentor to a young engineer.

Tater tot casserole?!? I like tater tots, but ummm….

My spouse accuses me of having selective hearing. I told her, “That is not true. I hear you now, and I don’t want to.”
